Had to cancel 4 month appointment

Boooooo, had to cancel my appointment with my nurse and NUT tomorrow due to the very bad winter storm.  I kep****ching the weather forecast hoping it would miss us, no such luck.  Part of the highway to Spokane is closed, so I've rescheduled for next Friday.  Hope I don't have to cancel that one too!  My weight loss has been strange.  I'll dip down, then bounce around for a few weeks, then finally settle, one pound at a time.  It is now getting kind of frustrating.  I need to start drinking more water.  I've noticed that my sisters don't call and ask me how I am anymore.  I don't bring up my experience with this new lifestyle anymore unless someone asks.  I'm thinking this is not a bad thing.  I have all of you, which is so important to me, you know all about what I'm going through.

No one in my family has ever asked about it, of course I did not tell them till about 3 mo after the surgery, even then they never ask. I have gotten used to it, my sisters are very self centered and if the conversation is not about them, they dont talk about it and get off the phone, quickly.
Hopefully you will be able to keep your appt next week and keep that winter weather to yourself, we dont want any of it

Sorry to hear that.  That must be one of the several "systems" that are supposed to be pushing through out area in the next several days... Boo!

The only one who says anything to me about my weight is my mother.  Seems every time i see her she asks "you still losing weight"..  LOL.. Now I can tell her "no - I've gained 5 lbs".

I hope he or the NUT can give you some advice as to what to do.  4 months out seems pretty early to get stuck like you are.

Sorry you are having bad weather and sorry you had to change your appt.  We didn't have 4 month appointments, just 3 and 6 although my 3 month was closer to 4 months from surgery.

My 5th month, January was my bounce month.  I ended up losing 4 lbs but bounced all over everywhere.  Since then I have been losing about 2 lbs a week again. I think lowering the carbs helped but it could have just been time to start going down again. Seems like someone else said the 4th month was a low loss one for them also.  I do think the body needs time to recoup from time to time and I'm sure you will keep on losing.

No one is checking on me anymore either.  That's ok.  I have you guys.

I think this was supposed to be my 3 month but they are so busy.  I've lost over 50% of my excess weight so I think that's good.  But, I'm hungry alot of the time.  I eat alot of yogurt and I guess it's because it's a slider food and not staying with me very long.  I eat turkey burger patties alot for dinner with a little cranberry spread on top and that does keep me full longer.  Maybe I need to rethink some of my meals.

You and I had our surgery's the same day. but we both have the abuot the same amount left to lose and I've only lost 34 pounds.  I'm also hungry all the time!!!  I've been baking turkey's, chicken's and munching on that or having salad.. but since I stopped eating bread or noodles..I find that I'm eating a lot more..
I';ll be looking for your meals to see how you do.. You are definately doing well!!

That sounds really  good Lucy  .   One thing I would  be careful about is the fat content of  the turkey  .

There  were three widely  differing   fat  values in the ground turkey  I saw in the grocery store and Walmart  when i looked  ...

one was  a WHOPPING 17  grams of fat per SERVING !!!!!  OMG  I might as well eat a big mac  !!  ( well almost )

the other was  like 8  grams of fat (  1/2  a big mac )  ..no sorry , not for me

the other , finally   was NOT  made out of turkey SKIN and FAT but out of ground  turkey BREAST  and contained  1 gram of fat per serving .

It looked EXACTLY the same as the others but was a little more expensive and HARD TO LOCATE ON  THE SHELF  !!!  ( because the others are a high profit item lol )

It was quite dry  when i fixed it by itself (  but tasted GREAT when i  hooked it up with fat free promise  and butter buds  and scallions  and egg ;) )

i would never buy the first  two myself ... just saying .. and expect to lose weight .

but I'm a fat -free  grrl .

Say what ya''ll like  ..... im still  maintaining  126  lbs ,  still  goofing off on my food  every day (  I DONT low carb lol , I bake , I eat BREAD ..  IM NAUGHTY .. and I even DRINK ... )  but eating fat free  largely saves me ...

when I get hungry late at nite  I eat air popped popcorn .

I'd LOVE  to be thinner don't get me wrong - I'd love to be a 00 or a 000.  But right now Im a size 0- 2 and maintaining effortlessly  and ( regrettably )largely  without daily  exercise . I ENJOY my food .  I enjoy LIVING  .  I WISH i could exercise more  but ...but ...

I don't feel hungry  ... and i'm  (  amazingly )  not regaining ..  so far .  Again  I'm not recommending my lifestyle just putting it out there  that  this is what  I do  and its something  that seems to work   ..... maybe not to lose to ninety lbs   but to MAINTAIN   anyway  ....

I DEFINITELY  noticed more  loss when i drank more water  ,, even  to this day ....

im resolving to  drink hot herbal tea when I'm hungry rather than EATING

Thank you for this good info.  I looked at the turkey I eat and it has 5 grams of fat.  My fat intake is pretty low except when I give in to my craving for the chicken corn chowder.   I need to make sure I'm drinking the water.  I looked and I've only lost 7 pounds in the last months, which is kind of crazy for this early.

Sorry about your appointment.  I'm ready for Spring.

My dad still checks on me which is sweet.  Once my family realized I didn't die from surgery and I don't have any complications, the rest quit checking on me.  My sisters have their own body issues.  The fact that I'm taking care of mine makes them focus more on their own.

They are coming to visit visit in 2 weeks.  It will be interesting to see how they react to my changes.
