Surgeon Appointment and Submitting to Insurance! (xpost)
I had my first appointment with my surgeon today. Everything went really well, he thinks I chose the right surgery, and he thinks I'm a perfect candidate for it. He answered all of my questions and made sure I knew what was coming up and how everything would go from here.
The awesome thing is: THEY ARE SUBMITTING TO INSURANCE TODAY! I will still have to go to three more group sessions (my surgery center requires you to go to 12), but I will be done with those by March 8th. If everything goes to plan and insurance doesn't do anything strange, I will start my month-long Optifast diet soon and will be having surgery around the week of April 11th!
I am very excited and slightly nervous, but I think that's just anxiety. Speaking of anxiety, my surgeon started me on Lexapro, which he says he does with most patients just for about 6 months to help you with all the changes that you're going through with the surgery. Has anyone been prescribed something like this for anxiety with the surgery?

Sounds like you are going to Dr Scott and Dr Bour. I did too and love them. I thought long and hard about the antidepressant because I have never been on anything like that before but ended up taking it. I was very glad I did as I read about folks whose hormones were causing them issues and who were depressed. I am off it now but I think it was a good move. I never went throught the emotional roller coaster.
If that is your group, feel free to friend me and ask me whatever.
