Protein Drink ?
Depends on how many grams of protein are in a scoop. We're shooting for at least 60 grams per day, so... for example... 3 eight oz. protein shakes with one scoop each at 26 grams per scoop, will give you 72 total grams. That works! It can even be upped by 24 more grams if you are using skim milk for each of those shakes (8 grams per 8 ounces).
Both Costco's Muscle Milk and Walmart's Body Fortress have 26 grams per scoop.
Since we also need to get in at least 48 oz. of water, it can be a little hard at first to get all the needed liquids in soooo... Syntrax Nectar mixes with water and has 23 grams of protein per scoop. Catch two birds with one stone... water and protein together rock. IF you do the Nectar with water, then dairy needs to be supplemented in "meals"... That's when a scoop of protein mixed well with yogurt or applesauce or baby food or cottage cheese can all be helpful when you are on the pureed/soft food stage.
Hope that helped. :-)

Well I am really mad at myself I was in a hurry and quickly did some research on OH to see what was the best tasting protein drink and several recommened the brand Dessert protein by BSN you can get it from GNC so I ordered 3 flavors. This morning I got to thinking about it and forgot to check the supplement information. It has 130 calories, 20 grams of protein but what I am upset is it has 7 carbs per scoop. I wish I would have realized this before I ordered it. I only drink skim milk.

Our fellow LW Lucycat says she can return anything she doesn't like to her local GNC. They might have a generous return policy on line too.
You can do better than 20/7 but, it's not the end of the world. :-)
I bought samples through mybariatricpantry.com and it was worth it. I found out that anything chocolate is going to go right through me right now, so I'm glad I hadn't invested in a canister!
Happy shopping, and those you ordered will keep you going until you land on the brand and flavors you really like and that give you the most bang for the buck.

Starting Monday I will be starting a 2 week full liquid diet so I think it wont be horrible if I just use that stuff up during that time, I hope. I have already lost weight I am down to 205 with my clothes on so I dont even know why I have to do the preop diet but my surgeon requires it for everyone. Now I just need to find something much better for me post-op.

Pre-op is a good time to use it if you can't return it. Yep... pre-op diet is required. The more we lose, the easier it is for him to manuever around in there. I was lucky that my pre-op was 2 Protein Shakes, a light meal of 4 oz protein & 1/2 cooked veggies, and a handful of fresh veggies if I absolutely had to eat something. Tolerable...
If you have a local GNC take them back there - I'm sure they'll honor the refund policy.
