Hair loss
The hair loss for me lasted from 4 months to 6 months. I lost a lot, but I have A LOT. Even after tons of loss, it was thick. I actually enjoyed the thinning. Now, as the hair is growing back, I am dealing with very thick hair for the first three inches and thinner at the bottom. So, I just went short....a bit below the ears. It is amazing how much healthier my hair looks at this length. I really think short hair looks good on most people who are thinning. Try it -- it will grow back and the thickness will return. You will not go bald. Hang in there....
Here's what my surgeon said last week about hair loss.
1. There's nothing that we can do to stop it. No vitamins, protein etc will make a difference.
2. The hairloss will stop when the rapid weight loss phase is over.
I noticed that mine stopped around month 10 and is growing back in.

so the hair loss stops when the fat loss stops Lol ? doesnt GOD JUST have an amazing way of evening things out ?!!
I mean .. how many fat ladies do U know who DON'T have amazing hair .... it would be kinda unfair if we got to keep it all ( though I'd be the FIRST in line LOL ) ....
Ech .. id rather have a short crop of hair than a mass of fluff around my waist ( not to mention diabetes , asthma, highblood pressure a nd a really really low quality of life ) .
I cant believe im actually thinking of cutting my hair !
Actually the ONLY thing thats holding me BACK right now is the absolute necessity of being EMPLOYED in front of the camera ... and hair being integral to being chosen ...

3 months after any surgery will be the worst. So you have better to look forward to. Now that it is bad, if you make sure you get your vitamins and protien in, in about 3 more months you should see alot of improvement. Shorter haircut does help it not look so thin. Hair loss and regrowth have about a 3 month lag time, so what happened 3 months ago effects your hair today, and what you do today won't really show for 3 months. I had really thin hair to begin with, so when I lose hair, it is really noticable, but it's just something I work around. Parting my hair on the side also helps it not look so thin.
I believe in accepting that 'This Too Shall Pass" so am not to worried about it. I'm curious as to what will happen with mine since it's naturally curly, thin (but there's a lot of it), and I keep it cut short already...
Ava, when I hit goal, or close to goal, I need you to hide my jeans and t-shirts and take me shopping. ROFL!!

Absolutely Ruthie !! we have some really cool fashion threads on here .... where we all consult for each other and virtually style one another's new look !
Its amazing how differently other people see you than you see yourself sometimes ... and sometimes tiny little tweaks you never thought of can make ALL the difference ...
I think Ill post some pics too and see what the lightweights would suggest to improve me .... ;)
