no matter how wild ! Anything goes .its just our IMAGINATION .... running away with me as the snow quietly falls outside .... and models strut the fashion week runways in less and less flattering clothes .....

OK heres my wild idea .. Ive been fantasizing about dyeing my hair a deep chocolate to maybe even black with bright blue highlights . Since ive grown out about 3 inches of my mouse - brown roots I kind of like the contrast between the darker hair and the lighter eyes .....

now Ive never actually DARED present myself as anything but a blonde .... there are GORGEOUS and I mean PERFECT brunettes out here to compete with ..... pretty much seven to one blonde ..... and manufacturers prefer blondes from pale to caramel to show off their clothes because pretty much everything looks good on us . I'd have to say in any given runway show or catalog shoot at least 60 % ( and often 80 % ) ofth e girls cast are blonds .

So i'd realistically probably be cutting my own throat employment - wise . Then again ... it doesnt have to be PERMANENT ( if im attaching hair keeping my own roots unbleached is a GREAT IDEA )

I could have believable waist length extensions ;) ( somehow dark brunettes get away with it .... noone else really does )

make an indie movie or two and then go back to pale blonde ... the BIG drawback would be practically having to shave my head afterwards .... and years of growing -out poodle like hair ....

the other idea is just to get extensions in the back .... keep the color I have ( multicolor ) or go back to bleached out on top ... which actually looks very natural on me ... , LIVE in conditioner and get a few blonde and dark extensions to fill out the back ..

the thing is I really need to get my nose re-done ( it came out awful and crooked too ) and get PS around my middle .... so probably those things should come FIRST before I tear out my hair ....

But Im just so bored with my look !!

One of the things being thinner affords us is the ABILITY to play around and not look STOOPID. I went to college with this girl who had this wonderful style of dyed dark chin length hair and alabaster skin and vintage accessories . Ill never forget her elegance ...... and style .

My style has always been based on height , legs and just TOO MUCH Blond HAIR . its ( usually ) more or less nice hair ... not one in a million but definitely an accessory .

Im a little tired though of the look .... Ralph Lauren , eighties looking , just a grrrrl .....

basically Ive taken FULL advantage of being able to wear anything from army surplus to hand -me-downs with a pretty face a confident gait and a mane of hair ...

Im also kind of intrigued by Paris Hilton's aunt's look on Beverly Hills Housewives .... she's truly PRETTY ..... and shes basically my coloring too dyed DARKER as opposed to lighter ...

I think it makes her look way hotter and hipper and more attractive than her castmates ....

And it would be so much fun to wear WHITE and baby PINK for a change and have them look terriffic .because of the contrast ..... ;)

Think it's pretty wild that the first post I read is about hair..........as I sit here thinking I want to do something different. I would like a fun do', now that I am small I thought it would be great to do some new fun style......I am going in tonight now if I don't chicken out....might go for some red high lights but for now just a new cut/style is what I am looking for....I have shoulder length now and I am thinking about going shorter....my husband is gone for the week, so it could be a big shock to him when he gets home if I do it....????

Ava, you crack me up.

When I let my hair grow out years ago from years of bleaching, I wanted it to be dark chocolate brown with beautiful grey streaks.  Nope, still dishwater brown.  I have had blond/brown hair for years until getting it highlighted this winter for some body.

You are there in the land of high style, this little farm girl isn't going to have much to offer you.

I love Brunette hair, especially dark chocolate colors. I myself am a brunette and have always been. As a kid I remember having all these blond cousins and wanting to bad to be blond. Now I am glad I got's what I got's. lol!! I work with a girl who is absolutly stunningly beautiful blond. She has a beautiful face, and has always been blond as long as I have known her. One day she comes in to work and has dyed her hair a really dark chocolatey brown. OMG it looks fabulous. Her eyes pop, they look so blue. It looks great on her and before she did it if she would have mentioned it I would have discouraged the look for her. I was wrong it looks great! Try it, its only hair we can change it, color it, shave it whatever it will come back. Till then there is always a wig lol!!

Ok, so I went and looked at all your pix.  How about really dark, but not black, it always looks fake.  And instead of staying long a short Halley Berry kind of cut, really short.  You have such grreat bones and oh my god what legs.

Ava, you would look gorgeous with chocolate brown hair, but you would also look fantastic with dark auburn hair.  With your complexion I think the dark auburn would be beautiful.  Stay away from black it just seems to age women.  I no longer color my hair but have let the gray, white and silver blend with the blond and brown.  My hairdresser says women pay big bucks to get what I have naturally, but I think she's just being sweet.

I can't wait to see what you decide.

I love Ur beautiful color Lucy  and by the way  shes RIGHT ....

in Madison ave hairdresser  circles the color is referred to as  " rich girl blonde "  cuz the color  truly IS  gorgeous from the back  .... ( its woven in  from four different shades  and  constantly  maintained )  and noone  but a truly rich grrls  can afford  the upkeep ...!!!

I know the late Carolyn Bessette  Kennedy's hairdresser and  he says she used to come to him every two weeks  at 700 bux a pop ....

the PROBLEM is  that  as soon as  the ash tones (  green and violet )  in the colors fade  ... you get a very unattractive  walmart looking orangey , brassy   strand ...  so the demiperm colors have to be reapplied again and again ...

and the  bleached  strands have to LIVE in sunscreen and conditioner ...

every hairdresser's  dream client and ongoing job....    !     I think one day  I'll be lucky enough to come by this enviable color  semi - naturally ( the lemony highlights  wont  make themselves)  .... my Mom  already has it  and its  beautiful on her  too...  but until then ....

I would advise against black. It's a pain to get it back out. I'd suggest the darkest brown you can do. I have naturally medium brown hair and dye it just about black. I have light eyes and I like the contrast.

Pictures when you do it!!
