head hunger

Ohh my! I have been a grazer all of my life. I was doing well losing 3-5 pounds a month. Then out of no where I just stopped.  I got into a wt stall 6 months a go and after 3 months of frustration I started adding more feedings into my day. These extra feedings turned into constant eating. Eventually I gained 3 pounds.
I have cut way back and have lost the three pounds, but my body just wants to wt between 151 and 153 no matter what I do. This is not a bad wt, but at 5' 3" I am still over wt. I just want to get to normal which would be ten pounds lighter.
I think because I am over fifty those old habits are just a part of my life. So, I have studied myself closely and I have developed strategies to deal with it.
First, I have to recognize the problem. It is rare for me to feel hungry anymore. I can go all day and not want to eat.  So, I have a plan of 3 meals a day -hard and fast rule. This really prevents my low blood sugar weakness. So, if I want to eat in-between meals, like the egg lady above, I question if I need to eat for physical reasons or is my head telling me to sooth my emotions with eating something.
Then I have a list of acceptable foods for between meals. I can have DIET hot cocoa ( always read the nutrition lables; 25 cal compared to 50 in the no sugar kind, I add 1/2 teaspoon of baking cocoa and a package of nutra sweet) or mini unsweetened shredded wheat (high fiber) or some other healthy snack like cheese or sliced ham or fruit.
This seems to be working at keeping me from eating all day. I hope to start losing more wt soon...Time will tell, I might just be one of those who never makes it to normal wt. But at least I am not 42%BMI any more.
Good luck to you. I hope this helped
