have many of you had plastic surgery post-op?

I am 49...I lost 92 lbs and I am at 120.  No plastics in my future d/t $$, but I am ok with that.

My arms a kinda hangy...but with weight lifting they don't scare small children too much.  My belly is a bit jiggly, but other than not being able to wear a bikini (not that I would at my age!!!)...it really is ok with clothes on.  My legs...well lets just say I will be wearing cute knee length skirts and dresses this summer....not shorts for me!!

I have been overweight most of my adult life and age is no longer in my favor.  You might be pleasantly surprised at your age!!

I'm a pre-op, 33 and 5'5" as well, though about fifty pounds more than you. I know I will have excess skin on my stomach as that is where I carry ALL my weight. I am pretty sure my legs can be toned up as I lose the weight and my arms, in some genetic miracle, have stayed pretty fit through all the yo-yoing with the weight.

My dad and brother had the RNY and have done wonderful (we all carry weight in the same place). My dad had a tummy tuck a year ago. We have the same primary doc and she helped him get his tt paid for and she said she'd help me too. She's awesome.

Do you have any ideas on which surgery would be best for you?

i was looking at the sleeve because it seems less invasive than RNY, but my insurance doesn't cover it. four of my family members have had the bypass but they all had more to lose than me, so I don't know. i'm going to talk to the surgeon next month when I get started on all this and see what they say.

my weight seems to be distributed pretty evenly. i'll probably end up with saggy thighs and arms. i've always had a flat chest, so they shouldn't need any perking!

I'm not at goal yet but plastics aren't in my future and I'm ok with that.  At 62, I can cover what I need to.  The only part that bothers me is my arms and that is probably the only part insurance won't cover, ever.  I've been surprised how much my tummy has come in and will probably not have much fold there.  Everything else is just saggy but I understand that after goal, weight redistributes to some extent and it is less saggy.  I hope.

I go back and forth. Right now my arms and thighs are all wrinkly and I'm sure I'm going to get it. But then my husband tempted me with the idea of getting a new RV and now I'm not so sure again. LOL

I am just in the beggining of my weight loss journey (VSG - Mexico) but while in Mexico I spoke with a plastic surgeon *****moved several large brown spots from my body during the VSG. He will probably be the one doing my tummy and lifting breasts (no implants) and he recommendd doing it only after I have been for at least 2 months at my target weight. I was very impressed with the medical care and installations there and will go to Mexico and this doctors with confidence.
