its a jump start to a new lifestyle which U either embrace as a permanent change or U DONT .....
if U DONT significantly change the way U eat and exercise in my experience at least if U have anything short of a DS ... U will probably gain most of Ur weight back . It may take ten years .... but thats what I've SEEN my friends experience .
As for me .. well my surgery was a wonderful start to a new life .... it got me healthy and diabetes free and ill forever be gratefu for that . But thin ? ! lol !! only if I run n diet ....
Everyone locally knows of my problems with weight..I've been up and down more than anyone I know.. so I told all my close friends that I was having WLS...actually they were dealing with me while I waited for approvals etc.etc.etc..
After I had the surgery..it was like..
Eyes glazed over..why didn't I look thinner.. I think they actually thought the doctor was going to cut out my fat...
Now..3 months out..I look probably like they expected me to the first day out of surgery.. and I'm getting the looks.. and comments..
The thing is they see how hard it is for me..they see me in the gym.. and when we go out to eat, they notice what I'm eating.. so I'm getting more..
Keep up the good work..
Soon..believe me they will be used to you..just tell them you are losing it slowly and trying to be healthy!! oh and when they ask you..say 20 pounds.. somehow most people don't know what 20 pounds look like....and it's an impressive amount..
