Any other heavier LW's out there?
I lurked on here for many months. Then, as I was in the preop phase it seemed like so many were getting scheduled and then were post op. The past few months waiting for a surgery date have been extremely stressful for me. Some things that helped.....taking it one step at a time, reading as much as I could, start preparing emotionally and physically (again reading, exercising, processing, etc). I also began to buy samples of protein, etc. I began with the seminar last April and got my surgery date yesterday. The relief was profound. Hang in there. There are people on here who have twice the amount of weight to lose and DO IT! You can too! Really! This particular board is very tender hearted and helpful.

Thank you ALL so much!!!!
I'm feeling much better about things today. I have gotten nothing but support from here, so I shouldn't have questioned my place here.
I am way into the pre-op process. I went to my seminar in November. Started my 3 month doctor supervised diet (required by insurance) in January. I would have started everything sooner, but my mom had a heart attack in November and I've been taking care of her every day. I am her main care taker. Anyway, so I've already done all my pre-op blood testing, endoscopy, ekg, nutritionist visits, those sorts of things. As soon as I end my 3 month diet (April 7), we'll be able to start the approval process with the insurance. Luckily, wls is an approved surgery, so I'm not too worried about that. I'm hoping for a surgery date in April, and if not, May.
I was at this same point in 2003 when the insurance declined it and after that we lost our insurance and haven't had any since, until now. So, I'm terrified something will come up. But my dad and brother had the same surgery, same surgeon, same insurance (my hubby, dad and brother all work at the same place) and they didn't have any problems, so I shouldn't worry. But after losing once, I can't seem to relax about it. Not yet.
Thanks again for the welcome and support. I truly do appreciate it. You all are so welcoming and supportive to each other, I can't wait to get to know you all more!

Cheryl......my surgery will be here in Asheville....I debated going to Hickory or Charlotte area (I know several around here who went to Concord) but I really wanted a local physician especially if issues come up. Plus with work, travel can make me miss a lot of time.
Glad your post op is going well.
Good luck everyone!
