Any other heavier LW's out there?
I've been acquainting myself with this board and I fit in because I have less then 150lbs to lose. Not by much though. My BMI is higher than the LW limit. I'm hoping I fit in here good enough though. I've just been seeing a lot of folks with less than 100 to lose and I'm hoping I'm not alone in needing to lose more.
Maybe this is a cry baby moment. I'm heavier then most on here, I don't have a surgery date yet, I have fears that all this will fall through on me (it's happened before). Aw well. I'll have a better attitude later.
Thanks for listening... er... reading.

well.... maybe you could look at it by comparing yourself IN instead of comparing yourself OUT?
You DO have <150 lbs, you DO have the goal of having surgery, you DO want our support, you DO pay attention and you DO have an interest in getting healthier....
Start dreaming about the LW toga Kelly_hope. Gee, in a way, I'm a bit jealous of you. YOU could earn a golden apple, something the doctor doesn't want ME to reach for.

We aren't going to kick anyone off. If you like what we are saying and you think it pertains to you, then you are welcome. No one is going to look at your weight or BMI here.
Pre-surgery is hard because you are still in the "is this right for me" mode. We'll keep swinging that you will have your date soon enough and be ready to go. I started on this list while I was still in the pre-date part and learned a lot getting ready.
Again, welcome.

Best wishes with the rest of your pre-op phase....I know it's hard to wait but use the time wisely to prepare yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally! Your date will be here before you know it!
Looking forward to getting to know you!

Kelly, Im one of the heavier LWs on this board. Im 5' 8" My heavest weight was 278. Im currently around 143 - 145. They welcomed me with open arms.
Where are you at in your journey? I had a long hard road getting to my WLS. It took me 17 months from the time I went to my first WLS seminar at the hospital to my surgery day. I hit many obstacles, was denied twice. There was days when I cried and cried because I didnt think I would ever get approved. Hang in there. Keep fighting. Its soooooo worth it!!!
And welcome to the LW board :) Cindy

Welcome! The more the merrier. We all try our best to support each other. Your BMI will never be judged here. i will say, I was so happy when I found this sight. I had a few people on the main board suggest I try "dieting" instead od surgery due to my beginning weight (Like I hadn't done that a million times already)! Talk about having my fears of being "small" for surgery "validated". JEESH, this sight helped me in leaps and bounds, and I plan to pay that forward! Good luck.
Kelly, you are most welcome to the LWs! We are a very friendly bunch. It is hard to look from the starting sign but I hope you used this time to really understand your options and what to expect throughout the journey. This pre-process is so valuable in preparing for a major change in your life, and coming to peace and solidifying your commitment to this change. We are here for you along the way.
