Fitness Fun - February 18

Well, my fitness fun has been shoveling snow for the past 2 days. ugh, it knows I hate it so it comes around just to taunt me...lol

How are things in your neck of the woods? 

Tonight DH and I are going the YMCA for cardio on the elliptical. 45 min high intensity. I'm going to be shopping around for a new heart rate monitor...any recommendations?

 I never thought I'd post here, but now I can. I joined a machines only gym on Monday. Made my third trip this morning. Walked there and back, then took the dog for a 20 minute walk.

I am going to hire a trainer, because I have already forgotten some of the instructions and want to make it worthwhile. I feel it in my legs and arms. Plan is to go Mon, Wed, Fri, my own treadmill Tues, Thur, Sat. Sundays off. We'll see how it goes.

No "organized" exercise planned, but I'll be moving this weekend, so bending, lifting, sorting, carrying, packing, unpacking... aerobics of its own kind!  LOL

I went to my hubby's kettlebell class last night and plan to go to TKD tonight. :)

Hmm, I don't have any suggestions for a HR monitor, but I can ask around if you want! What is your priority? Cost? Features? (Which features does it NEED to have?)

Last night, I spent 60 minutes on the treadmil, doing a climbing interval program and even ran for about 3-4 minutes. Hard to believe that I am actually running a bit.

This AM, I had a session with a trainer and did 30 push-ups, with a break in-between each set. The trainer was very impressed, since when we started back in December, I couldn't even do one push-up. I am getting so much stronger and healthier. I am also able to hold my planks for at least 30 seconds!!

Yesterday, I got in a 5 mile run and a weight lifting class.

Today, I went to 5:30 a.m spinning class for 50 minutes.

This weekend, I would like to go to weights class in the morning then run 5 - 10 miles.

For running, I use my Garmin 405 Forerunner. It has an optional heart rate monitor, but I didn't purchase it. I don't worry much about my heart rate other than I think the Garmin would give me a better calorie burn number if I used it. I bought mine from heartratemonitorsusa.com or something like that. If you purchase online, be sure to look for a coupon code -- so many times you can save some $ or get free shipping!

Wow, Carlea!  You are a beast!  (In the great way.)  ;) 5 mile run & something else, too, in the middle of the week.  I bet it's time for you to update your avatar.  It's been a  while, and you're only 3 lbs away from goal these days!  So...

I will be going to ballet tonight.  Tonight's class is with my favorite teacher.

It was almost 70 here.  I'm sorry you had snow.  I know it is going to get cold again but I sure am enjoying this break.

I clipped Chili and drove him, then drove Poppy.  A good day.

Hello,

I went to Yoga class, then came home and got on the treadmill for 30 minutes.  I even ran for a few minutes to test my ankle.  Test = pain.  Oh well.  Then I did some weights.  A good day all in all.
