I reached my goal today.
Today, I reached my goal of 120 lbs.I am about 5.5 months out from surgery. It seems a bit surreal, since I have never reached a weight loss goal and the last time that I was this weight was about 18 years ago for about 4 months. I weighed 119.7 today, after spending the past week around 120.6, 120.4, and 121. I may go down another 5-10 lbs, to allow for some bounce back room. I'll discuss this with my pcp and bariatric internist.
My size 4 dress pants are getting too large, and I am unable to wear the jeans that I was wearing last month. I think the weight training and exercise for the past 2.5 months have really helped to take some inches off and to start building some muscle back. I am so much stronger and healthier.
I feel so much better and have more energy, but my head hasn't quite caught up to the fact that I have lost 90 pounds since last May. The complements are great, but I am concerned about maintenance and being able to keep the weight off long-term, especially after taking such drastic measures to lose weight. I think the most challenging part of the journey lies ahead.
I am learning to love my sleeve, especially after having such a rocky beginning. There has been a definite learning curve to all of this, but the support of this board has been instrumental for keeping me on track and feeling like I have a community of people that I can relate to.
Thank you to everyone,
Gail
