I was so busy yesterday I didn't have time to post this....and I didn't have much to say....LOL

I had the meeting with the boss yesterday and was pleasantly surprised he wasn't going to be changing around peoples schedules!  He did offer to change mine tho.......LOL  He gave me first dibs on a new shift.  It's a 630pm-3am shift.  I'm not sure it's what I want.  If I don't take it he's going to offer it to one of the weekend techs.  Which is great cuz I want to get back on weekends.  He told me to come up with some ideas on how to get all my hours in and I've come up with two.  One is working 2 12's on the weekends and picking up 2 8's during the week....OR...doing two 20 hour shifts if I can get the overnight weekend spot......I don't know that he'd let me do the 2 20's but I'm going to suggest it........LOL......Then ther is the possibility of 7 on 7 off......doing 6 12's and 1 8.....al sound appealing to me......I'm just going to put it out ther and see what he thinks.

Remember the other week when my coworker went balistic on me for being late........well she complained to HR about it and they made my boss write me up.......she is such a biotch....The upside is my boss told me about these options because in his words....."I like you and I don't want to lose you, we need to find something that will work for you".......That made me feel good.....since he is sooooo hard to read!  He's the stoich silent type.....LOL.......

Well everyone enjoy your weekend!  Mine is just starting....off to make a protein coffee!

Hello Lw's,
I am feeling a bit disillusioned I suppose. I was secretly, but rather unconvincingly so, hoping I would be one of the few that would be unaffected by hair loss. It is coming out by the handful. Usually only in the shower or when I comb or bru**** I think it looks more dramatic than it is since my hair falls just above my lower back. So the hair is long and makes it look like more than it is, but it definitely more a lot more than usual. As a result I am toying with the idea of cutting it. I like the idea of a 20's flapper cut with finger waves but it's hard to let all my hair go.

You should go to my profile and see my "hair transformation"  I had very long hair when I had surgery.......I made it through the hairloss stage.....the regrowth is what got me to cut it......it started to look pretty pathetic when is was growing in.......LOL

Oh I feel for you faery...then I looked at the date for your surgery and you're right on time for hair loss..mine started at 4 months and fell out until about 8 months...now it's all regrowing...
we can all PROMISE you it will grow back and then some....it's completely normal after surgery like we had...take vitamins but don't stress about it...there is no magic cure...it will grow back on it's own..
it stops growing after surgery and then falls out...and then everything starts growing again....
you'll notice you shave less and  pluck less because everything is frozen now...then everything will start growing again like it's spring or something...in the meantime put it up ...cut it...forget about it...
mine was middle back length and it was handfuls...I put it up and only took it down to wa**** once or twice a week...it was very dry...when I washed it I would just comb in out and suck it up as I got huge tumbleweed balls or hair and then I would dry it and put it up and not think about it...it's just one of the negatives of WLS but it's hard to go through...SEAVIEW

I'm losing hair like crazy too.  It is not as long as yours, but the longest I have ever had.  I don't want to cut it.

Since I know I'm my own worst critic, I've decided to suffer through the hair loss until someone else tells me it is a problem.  I mention it to my DH several times a week and I get the shoulder shrug with the "huh?'

My sisters are visiting next month. They will be brutally honest with me about it.  My hair dresser will too.

Good Luck.

cutting it some will probably take some of the pressure off the roots and allow U to keep it longer and also look fuller . I don't know what to advise U honestly .... a lot of biotin taking ? zinc n iron .... it DOES grow back ...SLOOWWLY .

WAY TOO SLOWLY for me

On e thing I would NOT advise is chemical treatment ... because what didnt make it EVER break off before surgery definitely will break it off AFTER ... GRRRR

Personally I think a mid- back length ( and Blunt cut , swingy and FULL) is VERY attractive especially on a Medium - weight to SMALLER person ( that U ARE now ;) thank God )

We don't have to have extension length BIG hair to balance out the BIG body and round face anymore ;)

Super long , thin hair just looks straggly .... I HATED to cut inches off mine too trust me but it looked great for a while till I made the mistake of straightening it ... GRRR

Heather, is your boss possibly suggesting a shift that he thinks you will be able to make ontime regularly?  Sounds like he's trying to help you.

I am trying to get in protein today so I don't lose much hair.  I think I have good hair: when I got very ill a few years ago, it went from thick strands to fine, and from wavy curly to straight. I'm hoping this time it will go from sprinkles of gray to all blonde. whatdya think?

So I just tried to invent a protein drink with stuff I've got on hand.  My goal today is 40 grams of protein and 64 oz of fluids.  Here's my drink:

1/2 cup unsweetened apple cider, 1/2 cup water, 1 scoop syntrax fuzzy navel protein powder, 1/2 cup fage yogurt.  43 grams of protein and 24 grams of carbs, but right now, the doc said if I wanted light juice, go ahead.   It won't be something I can do after the first week or two, but for now, it's something I find enjoyable.

I'm doing 5-6 minutes every half hour around the circle (my living room and kitchen are connected), and as I lap through the kitchen, I drink almost 2 oz of whatever I've set out. Yesterday I thought it was only 1 oz, so I was pleasantly surprised that it was nearly 2 oz.

Yes Tracey, he knows I don't get enough sleep as much as he understands my situation my coworker does not..and honestly she shouldn't have too.....I know it's irresponsible but **** happens.....I'm confident that whatever shift I end up on will be better than what I am on now.

I think your drink sounds like it has what you need.......and as long as you can get it down that's all that matters!  I'll be honest I think it sounds gross........LOL  but to each thier own!  We all have to find a way to get our protein in!

Keep on making that lap...sounds like you are ahead of the game!  Great job!!

it's nice to have an understanding boss. There are men in our organization who just don't get the demands on single parents. Ya wanna strangle them.  But then there are those who think "You don't have kids, so you can work 80 hours a week." And for those folks, strangling would be a joy.

Haha - I wish my gray turned to blond - wishful thinking my dear!!  I'm toying with the idea of letting the color grow out. Some days I'm ok with it, some days I'm not.  Right now is the farthest I've EVER let it grow grey.  Told myself on Monday I'll color it - we'll wait and see if I actually do..

I think your drink sounds yummy.  I love the fuzzy navel protein.
