Thanks Abby and Ruthie. Adding a tiny bit of protein powder to anything seems to help.  Also, for me, warm is best.

i just did a test and found that if I added a few drops of lemon juice (right from the lemon, not the bottle) to an ounce of crystal light, it went down well too, even cold, so I'm wondering if what Gina said a few weeks ago is true for me: that I need to make the pH of our water more acidic to match my new gut.

I've only gotten about 28 oz in today, but the NP said if i did 20 oz I was ok.  I've got about 3 more hours, which means 6 more ounces.

I walk on the hour and the half hour, six minutes, just around the kitchen and living room circle.  Each time I pass through the kitchen, I take a sip of 1 oz of whatever I've set on the counter.  That way I know I get at least 2 oz an hour.  Plus all I sip through the day.

Yes, I put lime juice in my water--the only way I can keep it down. I HATE crystal light, so this is what I've been doing since I stopped with juices. I found I could get a lot more liquid in if I was constantly taking tiny tiny baby sips and not drinking in intervals. Drinking was a job for me the first 1-2 weeks, and I always got all my fluids in and it never hurt. :)

That said, you're doing great!! Keep it up!

Me...I just got off the phone with BCBS, I saw my claims, they aren't EOB's yet apparently, still in review but I had to REMIND them of the approval number. But LORD the amount is staggering. I honestly belive some of that was double charged but without seeing the actual bill myself I can't prove it. They had THREE pharmacy bills!!!

And they had another pending my OTHER insurance. Had to remind them they are my primary not my secondary. Jeese, the first of the year is a pain in the neck.

Have fun packing. We will miss you here next week. Liz

Gina,

Have a blast on the cruise. I've never done one (I don't like the idea of that many people that I can't get away from LOL).

I'm sick today and will likely mope around the house and sleep a lot. Got Netflix on the computer and dog curled up in bed with me, so I'm set. Wondered about eating while sick with the new "pouch." My throat hurts so much it's hard to just drink - but I am getting my liquids in. Figure if I go on a food strike for a day, it won't kill me.

Enjoy the cruise and make sure to take pictures so we can hear and see all about it.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

You will have a blast, Gina...went on a cruise a few years ago and was absolutely the BEST vacation we ever had!  My husband could hardly drag me off the ship at the end...Today is tax day..what fun! Then am going to try cleaning my house..( my DH has been in charge of it for the last month...looking pretty sad). Have a great trip!

Have a wonderful time on your cruise, Today I am taking DS#3 to the Dr because he is having chest and head issues. Just a cold but I think he is also asthmatic. DS#4 had to stay home due to the appt being at a certain time and not having anyone rab him off the bus. Other than that noting , again.

Rosa is alright about the laundry on ship - it makes it easy to pack lighter. Also, I would suggest not taking any jewelry that you would hate to lose. My jewelry was stolen during one of my cruises during the disembarkment process. Never heard back from Princess Cruises about my claim. Luckily, it was costume jewelry for the most part. Still, I'd go on a cruise again in a heartbeat. Nothing better than looking out at the endless ocean.

I am heading home late this afternoon from DC. I can hardly wait to see my kitties. I only have a couple of meetings so my friend/colleague and I are going to hit a jewelry store before departing. I leave Sunday for my vacation in FL where it is going to be in the mid-70's. Woo hoo!

Hi Gina,  I've never been cruising, so I want a full report when you get back please!

Today I'm going to enjoy how great it feels to be ONE YEAR post op.  I got to see my surgeon at support group last night and even had my picture taken with him.  Hopefully one will come out ok.  He said I could post it on my OH page.

Today is work followed by a Pilates class. I'm so grateful that today I'm able to take Pilates and Yoga and feel good and not feel out of place.  I held myself back from doing so many things because I was so self conscious about my body size.  I'm really looking forward to seeing everything that year 2 post-op has in store for me.  I'll start a 1 year surgiversary post tonight or tomorrow.
