Biotin suggestions for VSG'r
Tracey is wondering about where to buy and what brands are best for biotin. I did tell her that it is available at any pharmacy and the losenges are best.....but does anyone else have any suggestions for her?? How about dosage and is there special considerations for a VSG'r??
Thanks!
Thanks!

The dosage is really up to you. I haven't seen any studies showing large doses or any more than the RDA of biotin helps with hair loss or anything else although many people think it does and it might. I'm not saying it doesn't, just that I have not found any scientific evidence of that. So there really is no recommended dose beyond the RDA, which I think is 300 mcg. I could be mistaken about that though and I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
It's hard to take too much biotin since it's a water soluble vitamin. You'll just pee out what you don't need or can't use.

But getting in your protein is going to get easier. Here's a couple of things that you probably already know but will get you up over 60grams fast.
8 oz. Milk (8 g) + Hot Chocolate (15 g) + protein powder (26 g) = 49 grams
8 oz. Greek Yogurt (22 g) + Protein Powder (26 g) = 48 grams
4 oz. Soy Slender (6grams) + Protein powder (26 grams) = 33 grams
8 oz. water + Nectar 23 gram flavor (not all are) = 31 grams (+ gets in some of your water)
So, just two of each of those types of combos above will get you at least above the required protein amounts. Or, double up a scoop even and keep the liquid at 8 ounces if you like it that way. You're gonna do fine. Ain't nuttin' difficult about it, you RAT!
