plastic surgery question

I wanted to ask if anyone has had any sucess in insurance paying for abdominoplasty?  I will have lost about 80 pounds when I am "done" and already I have irritation and sore areas under my belly fold.  Everything I read on plastic surg. sites says this procedure is done after weight loss of 100 pounds or more.  Thoughts?

Yep.  My insurance paid for the panniculectomy and I paid for the upgrade to the full tummy tuck.

Now - the key is to find a Dr that knows HOW to bill the insurance company.  They rejected it 3 times before they approved it.

Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it.  Took 8 months.

My surgeon told me that no matter how insignifigant I feel my yeast infections are I should take pictures and always see my PCP to have them documented.  SOOO if you have any irritations under your skin folds...in your belly button.....get them documented and take pics!  Good luck!

You can call your insurance company directly to see if they cover abdominoplasty or panniculectomy after massive weight loss and they should be able to tell you the criteria. My BCBS PPO required that 100 pounds be lost and maintained for 6 months. No other documentation was needed.

Good luck!
