Hi my name is Lori. I am 44 years old and live in WI. I am currently planning the RNY sometime in early April. I meet with my surgeon today to schedule the date. I am so happy I found the lightweight board. I like to hear from others that are not 200lbs overweight..I have a BMI of almost 40 and some health problems. Its frustrating to me that people don't consider you overweight unless you have 200+lbs to lose.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 23 years. I have 4 daughters..all out of the house and married (except the 18y/o). I have 2 grandchildren ages 2 and 1, with two grandbabies due this summer. I love being a grandma and they are one of the reasons that I am wanting to be healthy.

I have worked in a hospital Emergency Room for 10 years and have currently transferred to our wound care clinic where I am in charge of the Hyperbaric Units. Less stress and less junk food.

hey!  I'm Jenni.  i'm 52 years old, been married to my HS sweetheart for 35 years and have struggled with my weight for the last 30 years.  i've lost more weight than i can count but have never been able to maintain.  i've always been a compulsive eater, stress eater and binge eater and my weight spiraled out of control during the years of taking care of my elderly parents.  the only regret i have is that i didn't have WLS a long time ago!!!  i had RNY 6.21.10 and have never looked back.  i'm no longer on blood pressure meds, i'm off the CPAP, my cholesterol was 164 at my last check up.  i feel better than i have felt in years.  i have one son, beautiful daughter in law and 2 of the most precious grandsons in the world and i love the fact that i feel like playing with them.  we acturally run and play!  couldn't have done that this time last year!!!

Hi I'm Linda,
I live in South Georgia and have been married to my DH for 32 years.  We have a grown daughter and son.  Both are married and have 2 year old daughters.  My granddaughters are part of the reason I wanted to have WLS so that I can participate in their lives and not jus****ch them from the sidelines.  It has been wonderful!!

I had sleep apnea, high cholesterol, Type 2 Diabetes and a few other problems that have all resolved since my WLS in August 2009.  I've lost around 120 pounds total and am now wearing size 6's - which I think is so funny because I would never have thought I could get my big butt in a 10 wouldn't even dream or a 6.  I am smaller than I was in high school and love it.  This was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I really think staying with some type of support will help us to have continued success so the LW board is very important to me since my surgeon and his support are 4 hours away.

Linda

Hello!
My name is Jennifer and I am pre-surgery......all of my work up is completed and I am just waiting for a surgery date (soon, I hope).     I am a social worker and truly love my work.  I have two pets, one very sweet dog and one very mean cat!  I am 38 with no children.  I was a military kid and have lived various places but love the mountains of North Carolina.  This board has been very helpful to me......been a lurker for months but am starting to post more often!

My name is Helen, I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I had RNY 10.19.10  I am almost 4 months out now, and am thrilled wih my weight loss! I am wearing mostly six 6s. I wasn't fat until I had my first child, and I have lost and regained so much weight since then. I could lose weight, I just couldn't keep it off! I have been married to my wonderful husband for two years. I have a baby girl that is 12 at home, and two older children. My baby girl is very tall and thin, wonder where that comes from! I am only 5'2" tall and I have a very small frame. I work in IT Security and Compliance, and I am a former lawyer. I am glad to have found this board!

Hello everyone! My name is Tamela and I live in Central Arkansas. I had my RNY in July 2010 and have lost about 90 pounds since then. I was around 232 on surgery day, but weighed in at 245 a few months before that. I still don't eat a lot of real food, mostly protein drinks and bars, greek yogurt and cheese. Unfortunately I discovered that I am NOT a dumper, but wish I was. Now that I know sugar won't bother me the temptation is harder. :(   But I'm working through it...one day at a time!

I have 3 children, 17 yr old daughter, 14 and 11 year old sons. My daughter also just had a perfect little baby girl in November....so we have a busy household right now!  I work part time in an Air Force Library and am attending graduate school online, working on my Masters in Library and Informational Science.

Anyway...that's me in a nutshell!  Glad to meet all of you!

Hi, I am Char.
I battles my weight my entire life. I was a normal weight for three years in my 20s but then it climbed higher and higher.

I am 38 and married for 15 years. We have a wonderful 6yo dd. I was a xray tech for 12 years but had a back injury when I was pregnant that prevents me from going back to my old job. I now am a SAHM with alot of hobbies!

My highest weight was 263 after the birth of my dd. I lost down to 217 by surgery and am now at 186. I am thrilled with my tool!! It is a great fit for me. I do dump and it has been a huge benefit. I have no desire for high carbs, fat or sugar. Healthy foods taste so much better now and I am so thankful to have this blessing!

I look forward to a  long healthy life full of adventures!!

Char
