Home from Sleeve surgery Feb 10....cried three times today

Just got home last night from Mexicali.  Surgery was Feb 10th.  I'm doing pretty good.  I drank two 20 oz bottles of isopure with carb, that's 80 grams of protein.  Yeah for me!  Didn't hate it but didn't like it either.  Kind of thought of it as medicine.  Now on chicken broth.  I cried 3 times today.  Not like me so I guess I'm a bit emotional.  I am hungry but totally aware that I can't eat.  The vitamin thing has be baffled but I'm working on that.  Starting to drag now that it's 6pm EST.  I didn't take any pain meds yet today.  Had to dress up and be at school today for about 2 hours.
So thanks to everyone for kind words and etc over the past few days.  It can only get better from here...right?

It does get better and I'm glad you're home.  You'll be able to get better rest.  Biggest thing you can do right now is what you're doing, getting your fluids in.  Don't let your pain get away from you before you take your meds.

Take care,
Sue

Cricket, I was three weeks out before I got around to vitamins...I focused on fluids and protein first. We don't deplete our vitamins that fast. Take it easy right now and just focus on getting the fluids and protein. Sip, rest, walk, and the, repeat! Glad you're home!

Don't worry about vitamins right now--Dr. A doesn't want his patients to start vites til 1 month out. He feels they are sometimes too harsh on his patients' new stomachs. I'm glad you're home and doing well! Don't worry about the crying. I totally had emotional incontinence for like a week, two weeks after surgery. It's normal, and it will get better. :)

Welcome to the Loser's Bench.  Like the others said, I would just concentrate on my liquids for now.  It is a very emotional journey.  You should feel better every day.  Remember to get plenty of fluids, walk and rest.
Take care of yourself.

Congrats! Yes, it can be a little tough in the early days but, trust me, life is going to keep getting better and better. I hope you give yourself permission to rest, addition to the liquids and walking. It is important to give your body time to heal.

I look forward to hearing your updates!
