Good Morning. Happy Be-Good-to-Yourself Day
Yes, this is the way to approach it, Gina. I'm exhausted this morning, for some reason, and haven't been able to get myself going. My plan was to do a morning workout, shower, go to work (I'll be working late tonight) and then a late dinner with one of my girlfriends who is on a similar dating path (fortunately with one major difference.) Both of us decided that we weren't going to spend the day with some guy we aren't really into just for the sake of being with a man. So we committed to being together, instead. This works well.
Anyway, this loving yourself first thing is just what I needed to hear - loving myself first means tending to my body and crossing the hurdles that like to stop me from caring for myself. Sure, the meds make me super-exhausted. But I'm going to do this anyway, because if there's any chance of having energy, it's from a good workout.
So here I go - I'm getting up now. Thanks, lws! Thanks, Gina.

Linda, I was 42 when I got married for the first time. My great aunt, who was over 90 when she died as an "unclaimed jewel" (her words as she refused to see herself as a spinster), never saw herself as lonely. She went thru life with plenty of people, she just never married. She was never lonely. And she had more "children/grandchildren/great children than most people do naturally.

I posted on the other thread that I have been kind of down because I am not feeling well and had to cancel out on seeing my boyfriend last night. I know he was disappointed. He said he got me a card. I sent him one last night from Jibjab. They have these cards you can personalize with pictures so I made one where we were Sonny and Cher singing "I got you babe". It was real cute and I wrote "I love you" inside. This morning he sent me an email wishing me a happy valentines day and thanking me for the card but he didn't say he loved me Made me kind of sad. I think the card will probably be romantic, though. He gave me the best card for my birthday so I know he has it in him. I need to buy him a card too before they are all gone from the store and some candy.
What a wonderful wish for everybody Gina! Thank you!!
Around the beginning of the year Keith will wish me Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary because he knows he won't remember them come Summer. LOL I accept that and don't get too wound up over Holidays. After all, when i worked at Walgreens, holidays were most special because i could get all the holiday clearance candy w/employee discount for pennies. unbelieveable that i would eat most of it too. I had a garage fridge full of red heart chocolate boxes and would NOT throw them away because I scored them for .25!!
Anyway, my gift to my husband was to make him one big sugar cookie all for himself last night. It might be the last time that happens because I'm not replacing the mix i used. ;-) He's appreciating that, so far, cooking for him has been no problem at all... except I make him get up to do the taste testing.
My gift to ME this morning was to lay down and soak the bottom half of my body in my garden tub.
Luff & Later! Have a great day all y'all!
