Ok, are people not getting this? I was talking to my son yesterday and he was saying he hates Valentines Day because he doesn't have one and the folks that do "bum him out". It's like they're throwing it up in his face with all the mushy cards and gifts and smooching in public. I tried to tell him his time will come and to love himself first and others will too.

So, have a happy Love Yourself First Day and a happy Valentines Day!

I'm not into all the candy, flowers, etc but there was a cute card waiting for me at my computer this morning. And my get a way last week was only because my DH was willing to do all my work at the farm so I could. That is the best Valentine there is. Now I need to do some special stuff for him. Hummmmmm.

We kinda celebrated this past weekend, I recived Flowers,candy (sf) and balloons. I had planned to take DH to dinner tonight but at the last minute work called and sent him 5 hrs away for the day. Maybe tomorrow, Dh is loving his new video game though

I know right where your son is at. I've been like that at times, even when I was married....

This year is very special because I have someone to celebrate it with that LOVES this type of thing. I have NO idea what he's getting me, but I already gave him HIS gift.

He had a birthday party last night for his daughter and his brother. He told several people "I got a REAL man's Valentines gift this year"... LOL... then took people inside to see it.

He had been looking for a 9mm Ruger and it just happened to be my daughter wanted to sell hers, so I got it for a real good price. He thought it was the best present ever.

I got a rose yesterday from him, and he gave all his daughters' one too and I've got a V-day gift in the mail from the ex-BF coming today, even though I already know what it is. He has to stop doing that....

I've got a lot of life events going on now, so sleeping i**** and miss - my mind is going a million miles a minute... but it is all good stuff. Just a lot of planning.

Thanks for the reminder, Gina. I am divorced and no significant other. I enjoy sending Valentines to family and friends. Never get any back, but I do it because it is fun for me.

I do things for others because it makes me feel good, so everybody gets something.

Happy V Day everyone!

I had another date with Barry last weekend. We were at the Ferry Building in SF where they have lots of gourmet shops. He got me one very small raspberry filled dark chocolate heart to celebrate V day. I was busy this weekend and wasn't able to see him. I liked that his gift was 1 piece, not a box. He doesn't know about my surgery but knows that I eat very carefully.

This morning he wrote that he hoped that this day brought a smile to my face, a song to my heart and nothing to my hips. He's dieting so he knows plain well that a day like V day could wreak total havoc in a person's life.

I'M SINGLE...........LOL Well my "Love-Yourself-First Day" gift to myself is going to be sleep! I think I may be coming down with strep.....I sure hope not because that knocks me on my butt for a few days and I don't really want to use up my PTO for this.....I'd much rather have it saved up so I can ENJOY my time off! Although I know I'd get lots of rest this way......which really is what I need!
