Update on me and my life changes....

First of all - an update on my BL/BA.  My implant on the leftside has cooperated and dropped where its supposed to be.  The right one is being a real b**ch.  Dr gave me a "breast band" to wear last week that's supposed to help them settle.  I'm able to sleep flat now and on my side, but it still can get uncomfortable.  The right one is bigger than the left, mainly because its still swollen.  I'm thinking that since I'm right-handed, and have "overdone" it a few times and pulled the muscle (3 times at least) that perhaps that's what's causing the delay.  Unfortunately that's not going to go away.  See "second of all"

Second of all - I had posted a month or so ago that I bought a condo.  Well.. I got word last week from the mortgage dude that the appraisal came back as "inferior" which means the condition isn't up to par (duh).  Its a foreclosure and quite frankly its dirty (carpet), but there ARE cracks in the walls and they're concerned about them.  They told me if I wanted to take the risk and get it fixed up BEFORE closing (which Freddie Mac had in their addendum that NOTHING could be done to the premises before closing) they would re-evaluate it, but with NO guarantee they would still finance it.

So - with that said - I said "thanks but no thanks"  I'm not taking the risk (which I was recommended by both the appraiser and mortgage guy NOT to do).

So - I've given my notice to my landlord I'll be out of my condo at the end of the month.  Geez... now I'm homeless... well... I could probably stay if I REALLY wanted too... but... Tom has been trying to get me to move out to Nowhere land and live with him.  So I said "ok"... things happen for reasons, right?  I'll be able to pay off all my bills, save some money and even take that early retirement if they choose to offer it to me.... Oh - did I tell you I got a 5% raise this year?  YEA!  so - I'll be doing a LOT of packing and moving over the course of the next few weeks.

BUT - now my son is homeless.  I feel real bad about that because I told him I'd provide him a place to live until he was out of school.  Tom lives 45 minutes away and my son just won't go that far (can't blame him).  Yes, his dad lives here, but they don't get along.  My 2nd ex, his step-dad would take him in and is an option (they get along fine) - but, he doesn't want to live with any other parent but me.  So... he's looking at his housing options, buddies, etc.  I kinda pulled the rug out from under him on this. I did tell him I'd give him $200 a month towards rent.  He also knows I'm a sucker and will stop demanding payment from him for his phone and car insurance too.....  he's got a temporary deal set up if need be... but I can tell he's upset about this turn of events.  He was really looking forward to moving into the "new" condo and helping me fix it up, and basically living there, mostly by himself (since I'm at Tom's so much as it is), free of charge...

I'm also going to miss him terribly.  I enjoyed him around, when he was.  He liked throwing his ideas for school, work, etc at me and sharing his accomplishments - I've even helped with homework lately.  I'm going to miss out on all that.  Its quite different than when my daughter went away to school, that was her choice.  This is not his choice... can you say "parental guilt"???

Third of all - The Post office is doing a "reorganization" at the Headquartes and District levels.  I work directly for HQ's.  I'll find out on 3/28 if my job is still here....  if not, they're good at trying to get you placed somewhere - but that could be ANYWHERE!  Or an early retirement option, which right now financially I'm not prepared for.  (darn).  So that's on my mind.  There are some options here, but not real desireable ones.... prior to meeting Tom I was very mobile... now I'm not.  But heck - you can do anything for 3 years, right?  (that's when I can take full retirement)

So there we go.  Lots of life changes, some good, some not so good.  But I'll survive, so will Tom (I hope) and my son.  Actually, Tom's quite excited about all this - lol and like I said earlier, I've always been a firm believer that "things happen for reasons".  Heck, we even talked about what if things "don't work out with us" - what am I out of?  nothing - I'll just find another place to rent until I figure out what else I'm going to do.  But quite honestly, Tom is the best thing that's happened to me in a LONG time (and me to him) and I do believe things will work out.

Thanks for listening.  You guys are my family too and sometimes just getting it out there helps with putting it all in perspective.

Oh, Jody, honey, what amazing changes.  Sounds like it could be overwhelming, what with so much up in the air.  I hope that the changes lead to some amazing things you can't even anticipate.  Till then, I'm thinking of you and hoping the transitions go smoothly.

Rosa - thanks sweetie!  I'm being optimistic about it all, but the timeframe is what will stress me out!  I told Tom I wanted to have all the large stuff moved out this weekend, that will give me a week or so to get the place cleaned.  We don't have to be out until the 28th though... just gives me some extra time "just in case".

I put Tom's youngest daughter (15) on "alert * for the last weekend of the month to help me clean.  She knows theres something in it for her...

Jody, I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason too. Good luck with all the new changes happening in your life. Your son will adapt. As to the condo, it was not meant to be. Liz

Wow, Jody you really have a lot going on right now.

I know all about parental guilt - my kids can make me feel bad even when they aren't really trying to!!

Good luck on your retirement.  I wish they would offer us early retirement.  I looked into mine about 6 months ago, but I really need to wait 3 1/2 more years so I don't lose alot of money each month.  I am so ready to retire.  Hope you job is ok and you don't have to go too far from home if they make any changes with it.

Sounds like you are going to be really busy for the next month or so.  Take care of yourself.
