Hey I didnt know that!!     She is just beautifull!!
My 3yr old has a mess of symptoms and is in early ed (k3)
No one will diagnose him untill he is 5!!
But yes, I knew something wasnt right the minute he was born. He stayed in the hospital for 7 days cuz I broke out with an infection from  the epidural. After we got him home, he was a very quite baby. Constantly would follow the lights on the ceilings...
well this summer after many phsyc, hearing and neuro ped appts (and birth to 3) we've come up empty. Acutally its "oh once he talks he'll be normal" REALLY??  UM NO!!

Janessa that is BS!!!!  You need to find out who does autism testing in WI and scedule an assessment yourself!  Tell your PCP to give you a referal and get on the waiting lists at every testing center you can find.  I took Halle to Amplatz Childrens Hospital at the Uof M.  You can even try them.  DO NOT let them make you wait until he is 5!!  Early Intervention is key!  Get him into speech therapy and Occupational Therapy now.  You will not be eligible for many of the services available without a diagnosis so don't wait!  DO NOT LET THEM TELL YOU NO!!  You can contact me via PM if you have any questions.

One of my nephews is severely autistic. He is non verbal and can be very destructive. He is in his 20s now and still needs full time care. My sister in law is from Mexico and doesn't trust American doctors and refuses to consider residental treatment for him. It is a very big stress on their marriage. My brother has told me he wants a divorce but can't leave his son. It is such a tragedy.
One of my mothers best friends, Judy Weber, had a son who was autistic in the 50s or 60s and became very involved in advocating for autisic children. I found this story about her.

She offered to help my nephew but my sister in law refused.

I'm so sorry for your family.  It's hard to stand back and watch a parent hold thier child back from thier greatest potential.

It's very difficult to have an Autistic child..my cousin has an Autistic little boy who is non-verbal..it kills us because he used to speak..

Thank you!  Halle is nonverbal as well and is showing signs in her development that point to her being able to talk.....or so we hope!

What a darling little girl! You have mentioned Halle before, but thanks for sharing her photo. I pray that someday we will fully understand the cause of autism, and how to best prevent and treat it.
