Prayers please.
I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL.....my Mom beat stage 3 breast cancer and has been cancer free for 14 years...IT CAN BE BEAT!!! I will pray for her treatment and doctors...I'm sure she is so grateful that you are around to help!
I can't offer any advice about STRESS eating....when I am stressed I actually DON'T eat! I am a BOREDOM eater and all this bad weather is killing me! I've only lost a few pounds since Christmas and am wondering if I'm in a terrible stall or I'm done losing . I REALLY wanted to at least get to my goal!!!
ANYWAY, I'm thinking about you and your family! Hang in there!
That sounds like the same plan we are on with my MIL. She is to go on Mondays and disconnected on Wednesdays. I am interested to know more about your sister. Is she in remission? We have never known anyone with colon cancer not sure what to expect. The outlook seemed grim. He gave us 2 options. This seemed to be the best one. Praying we are right. I appreciate your insight. It is helpful to know others have traveled this road before. Thanks, Danielle
A little about her chemo......Her 6 months of chemo actually lasted longer than 6 months. They do bloodwork before her treatment. If her bloodcount was down, she couldnt receive chemo that day. It got to the point where they had to give her shots a few days a week to build up her blood count.
Her hair got really thin...however she didnt loose it all. It was definitely noticible though. She had problems with being nauseated. They gave her meds to help control that. She also had tingling in her feet. She said the chemo left a "metal" taste in her mouth. She also had sores/ulcers in her mouth. Her eating was very poor.... she lost 25+ lbs during her chemo.
She was a trooper thru it all. She had a very positive attitude. We are just praying the chemo got it all or else the treatments start all over again.
We lost our brother to colon cancer. He was only 41 yrs old. His was too far gone when they discovered his.
Im far from an expert but I can share with you my sisters experience. I'll be praying for you & your family. Cancer takes a toll on the whole family. Remember to take care of yourself. HUGS, Cindy
I'm sending hugs and prayers your way. I'm so glad that your MIL is a strong personality as it will really help her fight this battle.
You've gotten great suggestions about taking care of yourself. Keep a travel mug filled with something warm and soothing that you can sip instead of reaching for food. It's hard to avoid stress eating without a backup plan but it sounds like you're planning away.
Please let us know how both of you are doing.
