My mother in law went to the oncologist yesterday. We were originally told before her surgery that they felt her colon cancer was in stage one all she would need was the surgery and she should be fine. The oncologist got the pathology report back and it appears that her cancer is actually in stage 3. It has also been found in her lymph nodes. She is scheduled to start treatments next week. They will install a pump and we will go twice a week. She is a very strong personality. If anybody can beat this she can.

With all the stress I have gotten a really bad cold.Sore throat, stuffy nose, sneezing. yuck!  I have been STRESS EATING!! I am up a pound and a half. I pray it is menstral cycle weight.  I have to get my emotions in control and stop. We moved back home about 8years ago to help take care of my father in law. He has since passed away. I put alot of weight on then doing the exact same thing STRESS EATING. This isn't good. It is scary to know they both have had cancer. My father in law actually died from it. I try to cook healthy options for us even on the run but find it is easy to grab stuff not thinking.
I have to gain CONTROL.
Does anybody else still find themselves stress eating??????

I am so sorry to hear this news.  I totally understand stress eating - if only it really reduced the stress!   This is a time to be really good to yourself - sneak in relaxation with quick fixes like your favorite song or a manicure.  Also, if you can, take time on Sunday and plan your food.  It will help you durin the crazy moments all week long.

I am swinging away for you and your MIL.

My daughter has a dance competition this weekend. I will be getting a way for a little while. I love to watch her dance. It's alot of work to get her ready and running here and there but it's worth it. I will try to steal a minute to just chill. I pray this cold goes away. It is miserable. I try really hard to  plan meals but my biggest problem is grazing when I am stressed. That is a big NO NO!  I will have to regain control and not torture myself for having PMS and stressing under pressure this week. It has to get better. Thanks for all the prayers.

Swinging cats here and sending higs...not much to suggest except stay out of the kitchen, sip something, and keep your hands occupied.

Good luck to all of you. Liz

Oh! Having a close family member go through a cancer fight is hard, so hard.
The stress is so continuous.
Time to break out the NFSRs. Non-Food Stress Relievers.  Bubble baths, a good book, foot massage from a friend, massage therapy, walk in the woods, dog therapy, gardening. Whatever your NFSR is....
