What happens when.......

Your protein coffee take you too far?
I am drinking 1 cup in the mornind and NOT hungry at all during the day or night.
It fills me so full I cant eat.
I know for sure I am not meeting any of my goals, my protein has 26 g per scoop but that is all I am taking in now. I drink throughout the day but because I know I have to.
Is there something I can do to increase my appetite or just deal with it and see what happens?

You are going to have to eat whether you have an appetite or not. Think of it like medicine. What helped me when I was going through the no appetite thing was knowing that my weight loss is better when I get in all my protein and water. That is a good incentive.

Stacy, have you tried doing a half of a scoop?
What kind of protein are you putting in coffee?  I have always been meaning to ask this.

I've been through that phase and know all too well...Sometimes it happens because I make the protein coffee too thick...or sometimes pouch is picky and extrodinarily tight. Sooooo, I would keep up with the protein coffee but eat lighter snacks and meals throughout the day. You need the protein and you cannot rely on hunger triggers to get you there. So if you want to eat every 3-4 hours, make sure you pace out your coffee to food interval...make sense?

i usually have a protein coffee then 3 hrs later eat. then eat another 3 hrs later and so on...

I also notice that my body does best when it is fed protein shake/coffee/drinks/etc and then smaller food portions throughout the day...

i try to squeeze in 2 drinks a day to mee a min of 50g of protein...the rest comes from high protein foods (check out my m&m posts...)

You will find your balance sunshine...keep up the great work!!!

You have to force your self to eat.  I went through that phase too and I began to think, wow I am not hungry, this is great!  But it is not. Eventually the scale will stop moving.  Force your self to eat high protein snacks through out the day. Good luck.

The scale actually has stopped moving, thought I had started dropping again but when I get back on it I am bouncing around the same 4 pounds.

Diana,
I am going to have to do what you have said and set an alarm to remind me to eat. Even when I do force myself to eat, it is 2 oz or less. Just not comfortable, I will give it my best and I have an appt on the 25th so I will speak with the surgeon about it then too.
Oh I am just putting a half a scoop, it really is not much at all.
I WILL WORK !!

I did not feel hunger for about 9 months after my surgery. Some people experience that more or less. You just have to measure the volume of food you should eat, and eat it at the appropriete times hungry or not. Now, if you are throwing food or water up, then there is a problem and you need to see a doctor now.  Protien powder in coffee can't really fill you up all day unless you have a blockage, but you could feel like you are full and don't need to eat. If you don't eat, you won't lose wieght (and you will become malnurished). If you are feeling alot of nausea, but not throwing up, the doctor can help with that too.  I went through that and they gave me nuasea pills. If you are just not hungry, enjoy it. It won't last forever, but you can use the time to practice eating controled portions at appropriate times. That time was a help to me, and boy I wish I didn't feel hunger now, but I do. You do need to eat even if you aren't hungry to make sure you get in enough calories and protien in a day.

I am fairly certain there is no stricture, I am not nauseaus, not throwing up and unless it just does not agree with me, I am not sick in any way.
I am just not hungry at all. I am eating on a timer now and hopefully I can get past it.
Kinda weird now, I used to eat nonstop now, n ot so much LOL

Thank you
