Unflavored protein???
Day 2 of my liquid protein week. YUK. Oops, I ate some cheese today. I also started eating pumpkin seeds until I threw the whole @#!% bag and all out the car window. Whoops. The bag was sitting on the passenger seat, had been under my scarf that I'd left in the car for a couple days. Picked up the scarf and those little suckers started calling my name like the Sirens called Odysseus.
Thank God for my Super Broth. I've been putting unflavored unjury in it, and with salt and pepper, it's edible. Does anyone suggest any unflavored protein powder? The unjury isn't bad, but it has a stinkiness to it....have I said YUK yet?
I can do EAS Myo Lite Chocolate too. The fruity nectars need doctoring with some crystal lite stuff, but it takes 2 bottles of water to mix it all til I can get it down. What's that word? YUK.
I can't doctor this stuff up with much other than crystal lite or milk, and milk and my stomach fight if they see too much of one another.
Any suggestions besides sleeping with an IV for the next 6 days?

The only unflavored I can get down is Beneprotein. They used it in the hospital. I had to order on the internet. Amazon carries, but I got my best price on medco.com. You have to order a case of six. I would suggest trying to order just one can, to see if you like. It also comes in packets, which is handy for when you are away from home. Each small scoop is 6 gm protein, nothing else added. I use 4 scoops in a drink. I mix with plain 1% milk or soy milk. I have an aversion to artificial sweeteners, so most protein powders are awful to me. I have also blended with a small piece of frozen banana added, like a simple smoothie.
I also get premixed chocolate Premier Protein from Costco. I can get that down by mixing with an equal part milk or soymilk. It's an 11 oz container with 30 gm protein. I have a 22 oz. water bottle I use to mix. Then I use it for two drinks at work on ice.
It is experiment, experiment, for months apparently. For dinner, I had 2 oz. of salmon and some sliced cucumber and I went past comfort, so I have been miserable tonight. Usually that is a good dinner. It really varies day to day.
Don't get discouraged, this is a lifetime process and it's worth all the hassles!

The problem, Traci, is that "unflavored" doesn't mean flavorless. It just means that they didn't add any other flavoring to it. Some have less flavor than others, but all have at least a bit of that protein-ish yuk smell. That's why so many of us still drink our shakes out of sport bottles or shaker bottles with a small opening: it keeps us from smelling it.
Seriously, I decided to go with vanilla shakes for the morning, and added lemonade crystal light or orange crystal light, or peach sugar free syrups, and then I did chocolate shakes later in the day.
Try making the shakes half size, or even 1/4 size (yes, you'll have to make more of them, but when you gulp down a small one you'll have accomplished something and can then drink down a whole bunch of water).
Best wishes - it's a trying 2 weeks to get through, but you will!

lol Don't smell them! Use a sippy cup thingy. Stop by Starbucks and get a Cinnamon Dolce latte with 2 scoops of protein. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/beer.gif)

Thanks all.
Sippy cup, and sports drink bottle. OK. Will do. I"ll also try and find the bene-stuff.
Isn't it a bad idea to drink through a straw post-surgery? I don't want to start a habit that's not good for post surgery.... if straws are ok, I'll do that too..
beginning day 3. Gotta run upstairs and get another 2 quarts of super broth out of the freezer.

I used GNC Any Way. I put it in practically everything because I couldn't drink shakes at the beginning.
Unjury has a great Protrein Chicken Broth...yum!
I had trouble swallowing after surgery so my Dr. gave me permission to use a straw and I didn't have any problems at all. I think Drs. ideas are changing on the "no straw" thing.

Have you tried unsweetened soy or almond milk or mootopia milk? Sometimes they work for stomachs that don't like milk. I tolerate protien powder much better in them or decaff coffee. I like Syntrax Nectar brand protien powder. it mixes well, has a thin consistency, and itsn't quite as sweet as some. I find all protien powder has that smell and a protien aftertaste. The milk hides the aftertaste.
