Hi all!  I have been reading everyday but have been too busy trying to get all my liquid and protein in to write!  It takes up my entire day...I can't imagine having time to go back to work...I guess it must get easier, hu?  I am 2.5 weeks out from surgery and today I began my "blended" phase...and I was SO nervous!  I ate blended cottage cheese for breakfast and lunch and then forced myself to move on to blended tuna!  Never in my life did I forsee myself eating blended tunafish..and enjoying it!  Life is full of suprises! Tomorrow I think I will try an egg...I am getting pretty brave.  Hope everyone is doing well...now I have to go drink some more crystal lite!

Jeannie

P.S. I also walked for 15 minutes..feel like superwoman!

WTG, Jeannie - congrats!  If you like Mexican food, you can try fat free refried beans with a little salsa, (and if you are ready) cheese.  Nuke it and viola - a Mexican feast.  Just chew, chew, chew slowly, slowly slowly.  I am still trying to get that right.

Jeannie,
Really yummy - black beans blended with some chicken broth and salsa, strained, then nuked with shredded cheese.  Good protein, very satisfying.  Keep up the good work.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and meal ideas...I am going to try refried beans today...I find I really have to take this one day at a time...thinking too far ahead is really overwhelming to me...It seems like I will never have time to do anything but think about, prepare and eat meals...I KNOW it must get easier so I just need to focus on today...

Sounds like you are doing great Jeannie.  Congrats!!

I was most afraid when I moved from pureed to real food that required me slowing down and chewing thoroughly.  I really tend to eat too fast and not chew enough.

Keep up the great work.
