LW's....how are we doing today? I thought I would put a fitness tip out there...just to keep things going...

Calorie Burning

If you see that a given aerobic exercise burns a certain amount of calories, e.g., running a mile burns 100 calories, be aware that the number is usually based on a 70 kg (154 lb) man. If you weigh more than that you will burn more calories for the same aerobic activity, and if you are lighter you will burn fewer calories.

Home Exercises

There are a number of exercises you can do at home. There are body weight exercises like pushups, pullups, crunches, squats, and lunges. You can get some dumbbells, or if you don't want to do that, elastic exercise bands are inexpensive and easy to use. They also take up very little space, folding up to the size of a paperback book. For cardio exercise, you can jump rope, or get an exercise video. You can have a good home exercise program with an exercise video and some elastic exercise bands.

So, what is on your agenda today? Today is my long day. I am up at 4am and won't be back home and in bed until 11pm at least. Today is work/school...soooo no workout for me today.

I've been meaning to jump in on this thread!  Tonight I am going back to Cardio Kick Boxing to get my a$$ whooped by this tiny little drill sgt.-like woman!  OMG!  The first time I went--I didn't know if I was going to puke or pass out.........after the warm-up!!!  I should have known when the class was made up of mostly buff men that I was in over my head but she assured me the class could be modified for newbies!  --ha!  right!  I am going back just because I'm so darn competitive and I love doing the Indian Runs.  I can't stand the thought of the boys running faster than me!!

Today is my free weight day, so I did 35 minutes on the recumbant bike, did 4 sets of lungs across the basketball court, 120 situps on the ball, then my upper body free weight routine.  I need to buy some more 1 1/4 # weights to put on my home barbells.  I ache good all over.

Hi there,
Well I never found that pedometer. Dang.

I usually figure just about 100 calories burned per mile.

Today I ran 4.5 miles, but I was very stiff and sore. I'm guessing it's from the weights class I went to yesterday.
