Fitness Fun - February 8
Good day LW's...
What's going with you in your area of the hood? Here it's just same ol' same ol'....nothing new to report. I've noticed that it's getting real quiet around the fitness arena...so, let's put out a few questions to spice things up. Let's get a challenge going...
1. What is your most memorable fitness fad that you tried...be honest...??
2. What is your fitness goal this week?
3. What is/are your biggest obstacle(s) this week to accomplish your fitness goal(s) this week?
CHALLENGE ALERT!!!
Your fitness challenge this week is to get in at least 10,000 steps a day for the next 3 days. That's 30,000 steps peeps. Dust off the pedometer...go get one, they are cheap enough...but let's count our steps!! Bragging rights are up for grabs for the highest number of steps this week.

1. What is your most memorable fitness fad that you tried...be honest...??
Well, I remember back in the day going to the gym with my mom (I was about 12-14yrs old) and they had this belt machine that went around the hips and shook the hell out of ya...supposed to 'break up' the fat...lol Ah, those are the days...
2. What is your fitness goal this week?
Increase cardio and rebuild jogging base. Getting to the gym more this week.
3. What is/are your biggest obtacle(s) this week to accomplish your fitness goal(s) this week?
I would say planning ahead and allowing stressors to knock me off schedule. I get real full of excusitis in the evening so that is my biggest challenge...

1. What is your most memorable fitness fad that you tried...be honest...??
Went roller blading for the first time in my life at age 37, at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, there's a huge hill, but I didn't know it. Going up, no problem, then there was no choice except going down. Nearly killed myself, literally rode onto the grass and sat down, I had so much momentum, I swear I slid for 20 feet on my bum.
2. What is your fitness goal this week?
Go to the gym every day, start my couch to 5 K training program on Sunday.
3. What is/are your biggest obstacle(s) this week to accomplish your fitness goal(s) this week?
My only obstacle is soreness and the weather. But since I have a gym at my apartment weather is no excuse. My mantra is "Not exercising is not an option" It's working so far.
I keep losing my pedometer. I've bought 3, and I've given up, will buy no more. They keep popping off my belt when I bend over. Now that I'm walking, running, elliptical or biking every day, I figure I'm meeting my steps requirement.

Diana - the belt machine was the first thing I thought of before reading your answers! Except, I'm older than you - and I was the one on the belt....
2. No goal. I thought I'd be able to get to the gym everyday and walk on the treadmill, but have figured out that pretty much any activity makes me swell like a stuck pig.
3. I keep pulling my pec muscle... the right one of course since I'm right handed. Reaching and pulling down is a major no-no.... now I get the Dr to yell at me tomorrow for it.

Sorry not to play - but I love you! Overwhelmed by stuff...
Just wanted to check in for accountability:
Did my sprints again this am. And arms.
The sprints were harder than yesterday - I could only make it up to 8.0 mph instead of the 9.0 I did yesterday. My little legs might've needed a break?

I'll have to see if I can dig up a pedometer -- I missed out on today's steps though!
1. What is your most memorable fitness fad that you tried...be honest...??
Hmmm....lots of fad diets. I guess I would have to say Curves. Some people might get a workout from it, but I never broke a sweat. It was just a chit-chat fest. I was stuck paying for it for a year when I didn't really go or benefit much.
2. What is your fitness goal this week?
To do something active every day -- weights, running, or spinning.
3. What is/are your biggest obstacle(s) this week to accomplish your fitness goal(s) this week?
Time!!
