I'm new to this "Lightweight forum" but I was advised to join by Liz when I posted that I really would like someone who has done this to go over what I've been eating as I've only lost 29 pounds in three months.
I had Gastric Bypass.

Welcome to the LW board!

You can post what you're eating in a separate thread, or join our "Menus and Miles" that Roz hosts everyday.  That way you can see what other people are eating too, and we can chime in if you have questions or want advice.

Congrats on your surgery and you WILL be successful!!

Welcome to the LW board, helane. You will find a bunch of surgery types here and we range from pre-ops to long time vets.

I'm a new post-op, still on the liquid/soft food stage. JUST started my viamin routin and following the one suggested by vitalady.

Welcome aboard!   30 pounds in 3 months isn't too bad for a lightweight, we have less to lose so we don't see the big numbers like our heavier friends. Let us know how we can help and feel free to ask questions.

Welcome to the LW Boards.  29 pounds in 3 months sounds good to me.  I would suggest what Jody suggested - that you post on the Menus and Miles board each day.  It also helps for accountability.
Good luck.

Thank you all!
As soon as my son gets off to school, I'll definately cut and paste what I've been eating and excercising. . In the last month,I've stayed at 180-185 .. It really depends on the day..I've been all over those 5 pounds.. I wasn't too worried until my niece was like..aunti, you're eating too much..you don't even notice what your'e eating..
So now, I'm stressing.

I do eat a lot of food I think.. compared to her..but she dumps all the time on everything poor kid.. I haven't dumped except day after on the pain meds.. she also was on protein shakes for four months, but I know for a fact that she was not drinking shakes prior to surgery and I was drinking two shakes a day for months prior..I got so sick of them that as soon as I was able to..I wanted to eat food.. now I'm thinking it might be better to go back..
I just don't know if I can?

Yesterday was a huge eating day for me... but this is what I ate.  I do not eat like this every day though..

Hmm...sometimes it isn't the calories but the carbs.  I think what you might want to aim for is 100 grams of protein and under 50 grams of carbs. You'll need to stop all the sugar, bread and flour products. Well, not Communion, that's different in my opinion. If you do decide to do low carb, don't let the calories column get you down, just really watch the carbs and protein grams. The fats column may get higher than you're used to, but that's ok too as long as you're low carbing.

If you're interested, here's a link to Vitalady's vitamin plan for RNYrs. If you can get your labs at optimal levels and your protein up, you might find losing will get kick started again. Good luck!
