Hey All!!!  I hope everyone has had a great weekend thus far.

I've been looking for vitamins online and am about ready to rip my hair out.  How is it possible to decide wth to take???  Very confusing if you ask me!  I'm trying to go by Vitaladys recommendations but the "order form" that is with the schedule must be old because I'm not finding much of what is listed.  Sure I'm finding them but not in the size or dose that is listed.  Anyway....I think I've got it figured out now.

I went on my date with the youngin on Friday.  It went well and I would go out with him again.  There was an awkward moment (more for him than me) when a man who is my fathers age came into the bar and sat down and stuck up a conversation with us.  I think my date was a little offended I was talking to the guy but I would have felt rude if I hadn't espcially since he bought both of us a drink.  My date had to leave earlier than I was ready to so I stayed out for a little while longer after he left.
Yesterday I recieved a text message from him that really caught me off gaurd but in a way not really....I have to take into consideration his age.....LOL  Basically he asked me if the old dude was good in the sack.......????WTH????  Insecure much??  I guess maybe he thought I was into the other guy.  Before he left he wanted to make sure I would be "OK" and I said I was good.   He had wanted to stay out later too but had told me much earlier in the evening that he couldn't stay out late.  I didn't want him staying out because he felt I needed protecting.
I did text him back saying REALY?? You better be kidding!  He said he was and told me he had alot of fun.
If we have another date I will discuss his comment with him.....LOL  I really did have a nice time and learned that maybe it's not a good idea to chat up another guy when on a date....LOL Even if he's what I consider to be NO threat.

Hi Heather...not much going on here...I let my husband handle the vitamin order. He seems to have figured it out. Right now we are in the "take everything on the list until we get the first labs". Once we get our first set of labs back, we can start tweaking them and editing what we need.

But it wasn't until this week that I even got started on all my vitamins. I was busy jusy getting in all my liquids and proteins first. But finally this week, I started getting those in.

Dh is waiting for the Superbowl to start. I want to see the ads. Liz

I/m so glad you have progressed far enough to comfortably start your vit regime!  It's good you two are going through this together.  I'm sure that having eachother will help with accountablitiy!

Good Morning Heather!  I am confused as well.  I feel I need to follow my dietician's suggestions but I hear comments that challenge her views.  I know not all NUTS are right, but since I'm reporting back to her after labs and stuff, I think she needs to be held accountable for how she directs me on this.  Another issue is I have to stay with OTC stuff for a few months at least until the money flow settles down and even then, have to most definitely get the most bang for the buck.  I need to keep it simple or else I'll go into "space it out altogether" mode.

argh!

Funny.  Yea, chatting up an old dude, and staying alone after he left, when on your first date with the youngster probably messed with his head.  lol  Good luck on future dates!  :-)

I know what it's like to be on  fixed buget for vits.......However, I did realize I am spending about 1/3 of what I used to on groceries so I can afford to spend up a little for my overall health.  That said you can still work the vitaldy program on a walmart budget......LOL

As far as following your NUT's plan or any NUT's plan for that matter I think you need to take a long hard look at what she is recommending in comparison to what you are hearing from the long term successful people on this and other boards.  I recently posted that these NUT's as bariatric programs are NOT exactly equiped with the most accurate knowledge as far as how closely the patients are following thier prescribed plan.  Many WLS patients will walk into thier appointments KNOWING they are NOT following the plan the NUT has layed out for them and will lie and say they are following everything to a T......I think there is so much fear in our minds that we will be scolded for being noncompliant and you know what I'm sure many are.  However, if you are successful and your labs are good then there is nothing to be ashamed of in saying hey you know what I didn't do what you told me to do because I've done my research and following your lack luster plan will only keep my labs bordering on low if not low forever.  Why would I do that when I can follow THIS plan that keeps my labs in a above average range and allows me some cushion for if and when I may have someother health issue that depleats my levels.....
I think by looking at someone like VITALADY's success speaks volumes for what is missing in bariatrics programs.  She has been extremely healthy and her plans have stood the test of time.  She had her WLS at a time when it was still relatively new and not as accepted  and has become a revolutionary in Bariatic supplementation and aftercare.  So i guess what I'm saying is I'll take the word of a WLS patient who has years of success behind her belt than some NUT who is armed with misinformation aboutt how well her plan is or isn't working....But that just my humble opinion.......LOL

So yeah I worried he would feel uncomfortable about the guy but he is the one who accepted the drinks from him so then i thought he was ok with it........I haven't dated much so I'm new to all of this.....LOL

Vitalady seems to be changing the SKU numbers. Maybe Gina or Vitalady can shed some more light on this.

For example, the SKU for the Kirkland Multi-Vites on my Vitalady list is 1520. The SKU for the same product on Vitalady's website is (1360X500).

Good points Heather, and well received.  I appreciate you taking the time to lay it all out.  And, it's cool, I have a "sometimes humble" opinion myself.  rofl!

What?  A newbie to dating??  No worries, it's a slippery slope at best and I'm glad it's you and not me.  Keep us posted on the continuing saga.

Hey Heather!

I take the Bariatric Advantage vits (multi) and if I run out I run to the store and buy the chewable Centrum Silver.

I do buy quite a few of "other" vits from Vitalady, my D3, Dry A, etc.

Now - regarding your date.  Unfortunately I wouldn't chalk it up to just his age, as I could see someone much older saying the same thing.  It was his insecurity talking - and he WASN'T kidding... was looking for your reaction.

Even though YOU don't see him as a threat - your date did.  Now - I'm not saying don't do it again - heck you could miss out on something REALLY good if you did!  LOL

Have fun with it!  Sounds like you are.

I would have thought youngin was ok with the guy too, since he accepted the drinks offer.

Personally, and I guess i am just too old,but I would have been somewhat insulted that he assumed I was just going to up and leave a bar and sleep with someone I had never met before! Kidding or not...I would have been insulted...

Girl,

You have so much going on! I just do the vitamins they suggested in our classes - Bariatric Advantage multi and iron and calcium. Seems easier than trying to figure it out.

As for the dude, it was a rude comment he made and I wouldn't easily forgive that. However, I think a date is a date and you arrive and leave with your date - you don't hang around in a bar after your date has left. That would tend to sent the wrong signal I think. How would you feel if he took drinks from a girl and stayed there with her after you had to head out for a short night? I don't think I'd feel comfortable with that. I can forgive him being upset about your chatting up a guy and then staying there with him after your date had to go - but I would not forgive the comment he made!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
