Hi Everyone...quick check in/update

Shannon D.
on 2/6/11 9:18 pm
My kids are actually ahead of schedule this morning, so I have a couple of minutes to check in. First of all, I miss you all horribly and hopefully things will balance out very soon so I can get back into a normal routine.

1. I am most definitely peri-menopausal. I had all of the bloodwork done and took prometrium for 10 days and no period appeared.
2. My thyroid is all out of whack
3. I still have not been able to get the bad tooth taken care of, been on antibiotics and pain meds for that
4. I have another hernia, which will be repaired in a couple of weeks (I'm waiting because I don't want to miss school)
5. All A's right now (only 4th week of the semester), but it's rough and taking all of my time and energy
6. My weight has been very steady, but I have not worked out in a few weeks because I am up till midnight doing homework and studying, and in class or at dr appointments all day. Unfortunately, I have not been eating the way I should (like hardly eating at all), but I've been doing plenty of shakes, then dinner or a snack in the evening.
7. Everyone in my house had strep, then a flu bug, and this past weekend food poisoning. It has been horrible!

Thanks for listening to me whine. I'm out the door to take DS to daycare and head to school. I promise I will be back soon, the medical problems should all be resolved soon, so no more Dr appointments, and hopefully I will be in a normal routine with school and be able to manage my time.

I hope everyone is doing well, staying on track, and reaching goals!

Oh Shannon, that all sounds dreadful, particularly your toothache, hernia and wacked out thyroid.

You have one busy life going on there and I'm sure that flu bug, strep and food poisoning really threw you off your game.

I know that exercise has been such a big stress reliever for you.  I hope you're able to find some time for yourself.   Please keep checking to let us know how you're doing.

I've been thinking about you Shannon.  Two of my DD's went to school, worked, and had families and I know how hard and stressful it can be and then you are adding not feeling well on top of that.  Try to find some alone time even if it's only a few minutes each day.

I'm glad to hear you are getting your Protein drinks in and I'm hoping that you are taking your vitamins every day.

Stop in for a few minutes when you can.

(((HUGS)))

Roz

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Yikes! I will just say this, and pardon my language, but thyroids are ******** I hope you get yours figured out--I am sure it will go a long way in helping you feel better. I am there with you with school. Just keep trucking, it will lighten up eventually. Take care, thinking of you! Abby

Shannon,
I sure hope everyone gets well soon and you can get back to your normal schedule.  Sounds like you have lots of things to juggle around!!

Please take care of yourself and be sure to get your food and vitamins in.  I'm glad you are getting your protein.

Good luck with your busy schedule and your hernia repair.

I've been missing you.  I'll swing big time that your life settles down.  Kids in school bring home all kinds of germs and spread them around.

Stay healthy and breathe.  Things will get better.

Shannon, I hope you get everything worked out and STAY WELL!!!!

Did they test for the T3 as well as the T4? I know when my thyroid came back out of whack, we started treating it and things didn't get better, so I asked my pcp to test for the T3 as well, he did and it was out of whack as well...Most do not routinely test the T3, just the T4.

I hope you sail thru menopause without issue...some of us do.
