Good Morning. Swing me some lizards

Cleaning!!! I realized I haven't done serious cleaning since surgery 11/23. I did basics, but this morning I have been moving furniture and getting under things. I dropped something under my desk and realized two things, I could crawl under easily and how much dog hair and dust had drifted under.

The excitement is that I am moving so much more easily, that I don't think about it.

Thanks for the vitamin updates. My hair seems to be falling out already. Guess I need to get some biotin. Any other suggestions?

I think the hair loss is something almost all of us go through. Biotin can't hurt and neither can more protein.

Hang tough!

Thanks, Gina. You are the wise woman of our tribe. I am grateful for the good results from surgery. I will learn patience with the not so good.

Wendy, I've read a lot about Biotin and decided that I wasn't going to take it because I had enough with just getting in those necessary vitamins.  I suppose it can't hurt but from what I read, it will fall out anyhow.  The Biotin is good for helping with healthy regrowth.  I'm actually starting to take it some now as my hair comes back.

I started really shedding at around 4 months but I also have my gallbladder removed three months before VSG so I had a double whammy.  Sometime during month 10 I noticed that hairloss slowed and now in month 11 I think it's the normal few strands each time I wash my hair.  I have a lot of fuzzy little white hairs along my hairline on my forehead and I love them!  :)

Thanks, Lee. I know this is normal and I may get it cut shorter for a while. Everything else is going well, so hair loss is a small price to pay to feel better and move more easily.

Glad yours is growing back. See you soon.

Hi Wendy,

As Gina said, hang tough with the hair loss. At my 3 month appointment, the bariatric internist said that most people, not all, experience some degree of hair loss and there isn't anything that we can do about it. Biotin and protein may help with regrowth, but it won't stop the loss. So, no magic potions, shampoos, etc. My hair started thinning in the past couple of months, but it grows so fast, that I haven't been too worried about it. I feel bad for the people with thin hair and slow hair growth.

Thanks, Gail. Losing hair is a small price to pay for feeling better and moving more easily. It freaked me out to see so much in the bottom of the shower. Glad yours grows quickly, mine is kind of slow, but everyone says it will come back.
