I've been buying a lot of boots and pants, the problem I have is the same as everyone else, that in a couple of weeks it is falling off of me. I have been doing manicures to curve my shopping appetite and it has done the trick.

I refuse to buy more long sleeve shirts because I want to move back to a warm climate and dont want to "invest" into permant cold weather gear. lol.

Belts have been my bestfriend with shirts as I shrink in my clothes so I will continue doing that for the time being. More to come this weekend!!!

yea - you don't want to buy too much too soon.  It sounds like you're doing good by modifying what you do have!

I told myself I wasn't going to go all out with coats this year... but... I have 2 coat closets FULL of coats.. every color, every length, and for whatever weather - lol....

I was just thinking today that if I moved to a warm weather climate I'd have to get a whole new wardrobe.  Hmmmm  good idea!!

I am trying to stick with the thrift shops for now.  I need to do some serious hunting for my FL vacation in a few weeks.  I have a business trip to SF next week. I think I might check out the thrifts there if I can get to them.

I am still finding great stuff in my closet.  I scored this week on a Rena Rowen suit that I completely forgot about.  Of course, with the cold and snow, right now I am trolling my closet for sweaters and wool pants!

I had gotten rid of all my smaller clothes several years ago when I was closet cleaning.

Guess that's all the more excuse I had to go shopping!  I love thrift stores and probably more than half my clothes I have now are from there.

I've never looked at buying clothes to have permanently, as I've been so many sizes during my adult life.  My husband still has shirts that fit from high school.  The only permanent item of clothing I own, is a seal skin cape I inherited from my grandmother.  I even sold my wedding dress, way back when, when I needed the cash.  One thing I'm looking forward to, is being one size for the rest of my life.  Is that possible?  I'd like to buy quality stuff, but haven't because either I'm gaining or losing.

Right now, I refuse to buy another stitch.  I had stocked up on stuff this summer, before I decided to have the surgery, and feel guilty that all these clothes hanging in my closet are becoming too big.  I'm trying to wear them, but the pinning and belting is beginning to look ridiculous.  So I went shopping last week, in a bin of clothes I'd saved from my last fairly successful diet.  They're a few years old, but pretty basic.  Some still had tags, and pants needed shortening.  So I've been doing that the last couple of days.  I've got another bin, with smaller sizes so I'll be OK for a while.

I love to shop and I love a bargain, but I'm holding off, until I am a size 14.  I thought that might still be a size that I could take in, when I get down to a 6 or 8.  But now, reading this blog I'm wondering if buying 14's would be a good idea.  Guess, when the time comes, I'll scope out Goodwill, and Consignment shops, and just buy a few pieces, until I stabilize.  I'm hoping to reach my goal by September, so I can suffer thru during summer in drawstring pants and a few tees.  I love clothes, and love to shop.

Just down the street from me, we LUCKILY have a "free" (for a donation to keep the lights on), take as much as you can use, clothing thrift store.  I picked up about 2 dozen shirts of various sizes to keep me going as I lose... all for $2    I will surely be donating to them the big shirts & jeans as they fall off.  Those shirts that don't have dribble stains on the bloobies anyway.
