Newbie to this board, and just caught the references to "swinging lizards".  What does this mean?  I googled it, and all I came up with was a UTube video.  Didn't seem appropriate/relevant to the usage here.  Is this an inside joke, or a techno term that as an oldster (51) I'm clueless about?

It is a way to say "prayers" without offending anyone or poking fun at anyones religion.

And a way to send well wishes.

This term was coined here on the LW board a few years ago by some veterans.  I think there are lizards, chickens and a number of other things that get swung - all with the same idea.
