One Year Surgiversary Today

Today marks 1 year since my surgery. I have my 1 year WLS Dr. visit later this week.   It's been an eventful year for me.  I have not reached my goal yet, although I have reached the Dr.'s goal.  I want to lose 20 more pounds.  My Dr's didn't want me to lose any weight after my mastectomy and reconstruction.  They said that I could not build tissue and lose weight at the same time.  All that is over now and my health is very good, but I am having a very hard time losing any more weight. Thanks for the encouragement of this board.  It is wonderful to have someone to share with and see the progress that each of you make.

Linda,
Congratulations on your one year!!  You have done a great job and are looking really good.  You need a new picture posted.

It is harder to lose more the further out you get.  Are you still doing the protein drinks?  Do you do a snack at night?  I think that helps keep my metabolism going at night and helps me to lose.  I think I'm going to give Curves another try.

It was really good to see you the other day.

Good luck at your appointment with Dr. Scott.  Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Linda,
I'm going to try to take care of a new picture this weekend.  You look great yourself, such a tiny little person you are.  I am doing 2 protein drinks a day, but I do not snack after dinner.  I go to bed by 9:00 because I have to get up at 5:00 and there is just no time for a snack.  I can not sleep if I eat just before I go to bed.  I have intended every day to get a 3rd protein drink in, but I just have not.  It is amazing that I really like some of the protein drinks now and a year ago I have to force myself to drink them.  How 'bout that!  I average about 92 grams of protein per day.  Do you think I should push that up in order to help?

I would think 92 is ok.  I do 3 protein drinks plus what ever protein I eat and usually end up between 90 and 120(depends on what I eat that day!!).

Way to go on the protein drinks.  I don't think I could do without mine now!!

I know you aren't where you "want to be" yet ... but those numbers look great.  And, I bet you feel great!

Congratulations on a very successful first year!

Congratulations!!!  I think you've done great!  I'm at about 6 1/2 months into my journey and my weight loss has really slowed.  I'm doing well but there's room for improvement!  I'm desperately trying to get to my doctor's goal and then onto my own!  Stay here for support!!!

Enjoy your success!!

Thanks Peyton,
You are doing great too!  We started out about the same and looks like we want to end up about the same.  We will both try desperately to get to our goal.

Congrats on your successes and your surgeversity.  Considering all else you have had to deal with this year, I think you have done great.

I only lost 4 lbs last month and it was only my 4th month.  But I am re-commiting to low carb and I'm going to get down, one way or the other.  I know you can do it too.
