I personally think Katie Perry's  bangs are in Mamie Eisenhower territory.  Maybe the look is coming back!  I'm 4 months out from surgery and my hair is starting to fall out now.  Not really worried since my hair is too thick but now I have to remember to clean the shower drain! LOL

Funny about the hair, Gina. I am in the same boat. I loved my hair thinned out -- now it has short bushy undergrowth. I just got it cut short and it really doesn't even do a ponytail well, which sucks. It feels completely unmanageable.....but it did long too. Good luck with yours! If you get it to a place where you love it, please post a pic. :)

well , just saying ....if I had Ur or Jasmeen 's enviable heavy , curly mind-of its own hair i sure WOULD let it grow and swing and be sexy as all get out ....

i don't know if thats Ur personality though .. but U sure do have the hair and the right look to be complemented by it immensely Gina .....

U could always deck it back in a braid for work then let it down at night ..whoo hooo....

in the meantime have U considered a BOB ? even with curly hair a shoulder length blunt cut with the front ends slightly longer than the back ( so it all looks even when U wear a headband ) is incredibly beautiful with Ur color ( salt n pepper ) and texture of hair .... and even more gorgeous as it grays ...

if Ure not crazy about Ur own natural curl ( I am ) U can get a temporary Keratin treatment that will not only make it super shiny swingy and smooth ...it will falli nto place for Ur hairdo after U get out of Ur bath almost as if Ud had a blowout . five seconds of blowdrying will make it a smooth prefect blowout .....

hey there s nothing wrong with being BEAUTIFUL ....

Now U may disagree with me here but I boss men around on a daily basis too and I think being nice to look at HELPS me . I think they like my long hair and femininity and would help me a lot less willingly if i tried to be a miniature guy with a butchy haircut and shoulder pads .

No way implying that thats U .... i Do think U pull of the short hair better than 99 % of women who cut theirs and its pixie like and cute the way U wear it .... But ... it doesnt show off Ur hair to its best advantage .... and guys do love to see our locks prominently displayed ....

Just something to think about ...

Of course this is coming from a grrl who spends half the time on her construction site in steel toed boots , a mens leather motorcycle jumpsuit ( with three layers of fluffy pajama pants and turtenecks underneath ) .. hardly glamorous ....

the obvious Formalizer and Feminizer for short hair is long , dangly , swingy earrings ..just keep them real or very real -looking small scaled and elegant like Urself and Ull be FINE ;)

Gina, you're going to look fabulous on that cruise regardless of what you do to your hair!!

I think that at 11 months out, my hairloss has stopped and I now have a lot of white fuzzies growing in under my bangs.  i love them!   I have curly/wavy hair and go to a Deva Curl Curly Girl stylist.  I see her every 6-7 weeks. While I was losing my hair I was traumatized and just told her to do whatever it took to maintain my hair.  Two weeks ago I saw her and after she cut it, I made a suggestion.  She started laughing and said, oh, not so traumatized anymore eh?  As soon as it started to grow back again, I was able to speak!  :)

Snorkeling is great.  The last time I went, I jumped off the back of a boat in Thailand.  Zach and I had a great snorkling for over an hour.  It was amazing!  When it came time to get back on the boat, there were two guys helping people climb up that tiny ladder.  I was the last one.  When they saw me coming I could tell that they wished they were wearing back braces to help them hoist me up the ladder.  Oh well, I did it and didn't look back.  The next day it was a kayaking adventure.  I can't wait to do all that now that I'm much smaller.

Have fun mentally preparing for your cruise!

The week before my DS, I went in and had my trimmed again. Back last fall it had gotten too long and I wore it in a ponytail just to keep it out of the way. But I knew I was going to be stuck in bed for the better part of three/four days and I didn't want a rat's nest. So I was proactive. Actually it's a pretty decent ut so I may keep it. I also started biotin back about 6 months ago to help offset any hair loss.

Why not look up the cruise you will be on and see what is offered? Sounds interesting. I'm fairly sure they have a hair stylists, they have most of those type services. I hope you enjoy yourself. How long are y'all gonna be gone?

I already had thinning hair before the surgery so it is in pretty bad shape. I may have to resort to a wig if I get much more loss. I am thinking of going blonde!

There is so much to do on cruises but my favorite activity is standing in the back of the ship and looking out at the ocean. I really enjoyed the "at sea" days! Still, cruises are a great time to try something new.

I vote for waiting until after the cruise to let it grow out and then just shave it instead :-)

UGH!  Hair loss, that has to be the worst part of this journey!

I used to have VERY thick hair in my early years, but it's been getting steadily thinner as I've aged.  I probably have half the amount I used to!

I started losing massive amounts of hair 3 months post op but the re-growth started within a month or so.  Most of my hair loss was in the front, around my temple area.  So I wore headbands for a few months to try and hide my scalp!  :)

At this point a year out I'm actually losing less hair than I did pre-op!  I guess it must be all the vitamins I'm taking now that I didn't before.

I bet there will be a hair stylist on the cruise ship, if you need to see someone. Curls would be nice. My hair has always been so straight.

My hair has thinned out during the past couple of months, but I had a head of hair to begin with, so I'm not too worried about it coming back. It will return, as everyone keeps saying. My hairdresser said that, my hair volume is now like the volume of most people. The hair thing is part of the process and there isn't anything that we can do to stop it. I always thought that if it became too bad, I could always get a wig.

Have fun on your cruise!!! Snorkeling and parasailing sound like fun!!!

Please post pictures for us Gina!!  We want to see what the new do looks like.  I think I would pick letting it grown out over shaving(haha).  I have let mine grow out some since I lost weight and kind of like it a little longer.  It does take longer to do every morning though.

I would think it would look good for pictures.  Take some nice looking earrings that will show off with your hair tucked behind your ears.  A little bling always helps!!

DH and I are suppose to go have pictures made at church tonight.  He is really trying to back out, but I'm not going to let him.
