Good Morning. Y'all be careful out there
As these winter storms keep coming through back to back, I just want to encourage you guys to keep your heads and be careful out there. You may feel like Wonder Woman or Superman now but there are still a boatload of idiots out there trying, unsuccessfully, to navigate in the snow and ice. You guys in the warmer climes bear with us as we get through another pretty tough winter.
Keep in mind that your mood can dip with the temps and there are a few things you can try to help you get through the dark days of winter-- increase your dry D3, talk to your positive friends, do a little tanning if your skin type permits, put full spectrum light bulbs throughout the house, find a way to keep moving as in exercise and if all this is no help and you're sinking into depression, please seek medical help.
Y'all have a good one!

Amen to all Gina said.
Luckily, the jet stream is where it is supposed to be and this time, we dodged the bullet, again. We had a near "normal" temp day yesterday and it reminded me why I live here. I seem less and less comfortable with winter and the winters don't seem to be helping.

Good morning Gina. I decided to work from home today. There's ice on my deck and driveway; so I can just imagine what the commute would be like. Also we're supposed to get another punch this afternoon.
My problem is that the forecast calls for crappy weather tomorrow morning too! That's a dilemma I guess I deal with tomorrow. Oh well--I guess we just have to get through February, and then we should start seeing some breaks in the weather in March.

Good morning Gina & LWs. Our school is closed today due to the ice. Hubby & DS left both left for work 15 min ago. Im waiting for texts letting me know they arrived safely. And, I agree this weather can be depressing. I have my shotgun ready for Punxy Phil Have a great day LWs. Stay warm & safe! Cindy
I'm just thankful my commute is in the other direction! That's one bonus for working the night shift! Tomorrow morning is supposed to be -25 windchill so I'm not looking forward to going out to start my car throughout the night.....I too can't wait for the March melt.......Hope you have a great day!

We're at the very northern edge of the storm. BF's house, which is 45 minutes to the southeast is under a winter storm warning, and where I live - nothing. They're predicting 6" or so where he lives and 3-5" for me. No big deal... We don't really get ice this time of year - so I guess that's a good thing...
My daughter starts her new job tomorrow afternoon - just when the big punch of snow/ice will arrive in southern Michigan... I definitely feel for her and worry she'll be out on the roads. We have our share of idiots here too... even though we get snow on a regular basis.
Everyone be careful! And those in the warmer climates -

Gina! You're a wonderful public service announcement this morning. I love the things you come up with every morning and when you're not here I look through all the posts for you feeling like I really missed something to start my day.
We're having a warm week here with temps in the 50's. Sounds warm but it's still gloves, wool coat and scarf weather. I'm going to walk to work today since I don't have any appointments or classes after work that I need my car for.
Those of you in the storm areas, please be careful out there in these storms and check in with us often to let us know that you're doing ok. Having lived in Ohio, then in the Mountains of West Virginia with a 30 mile commute, I've been stuck in the ditch more times than I care to recount. Those were the days. Driving 10 miles one direction to drop Zach at daycare, then 30 miles up big mountain roads to work and back. Yay tire chains!

We are supposed to get the worst of it here in Chicago. The weather computer model last night on the news predicted 31 inches. Even the weatherman was skeptical! I've already lined up a plowing service for Thursday at a price that defines the term "highway robbery." My building is in the middle of the street so my garage is in the middle of the alley. I'll pay!
On the plus side, my office is closing at 2:30 so I will be safe and sound with the kitties by the time the big storm rolls in.
Stay safe and warm, everyone!
