Hi -
1st of all thank you all sooo much for all the kind messages, offers of prayers and support -- I really appreciate it.
I was in the hospital for a infected spleen that had been accidentally lacerated during my vsg not to mention very severe reflux which was stopping me from holding any food or fluid down (VERY VERY  rare to all the newbies)...  anyway got out a few days before christmas and had a few days of progressing acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, and diarhea (sorry if tmi)   I was tested for a very nasty intestinal bug that is a hospital borne infection but more likely when youve been on heavy antibiotics -- which I ended up having.  I couldnt hold down the oral antibiotics or for that matter was unable to hold down ANYTHING,,,  so I was put back in the hospital on 12/27/10  I had a picc line placed in my arm and I was started on TPN (iv feedings) as well as IV antibiotic for a cpl weeks that ended up being ineffective for the c diff... then a different antibiotic for the next 2 weeks...  finally the infection in intestines was gone... but reflux still awful on the max of medications which has caused a nasty esophagitis.    I got home last night and I have home health visiting and still on tpn feedings at home.   Let me tell you it has been a pain in the butt trying to get them to do tpn based on my bariatric needs.   They always want to give me too many carbs,    Uggghhh.

Great news is that I am home with my family (today is my dtrs bday!)   I am very sorry I havent responded to all your emails and msgs...   just got home last night and truthfully my little ones have needed a lot of attention as it was really rough having me gone the majority of the past 2 months...  and my youngest 3 kids are under 4!

Hope everyone is doing well,,,, I have missed you all!!!  Amy

I am so sorry you've been through so much. Dang, nobody should pick up bugs like that in the hospital! I hope things will be getting better and better now. Welcome home!

Oh Amy, I was so relieved to get your note today.  I've been so worried about you. I've been saying prayers for you everyday.  You've had the worst of it and hopefully everything will be up from here.  Your husband must be so glad to have you home, not to mention the kids.  I know Megan must have been a huge help while you were gone.  Please give her a big hug from me.  We'll talk soon when things calm down for you.

Hugs hugs hugs... and still swinging lizards for your continued recovery.

Amy, so sorry that you have had such a difficult start to your journey. I am glad to hear that you are doing better and on the road to recovery. You must feel very weak, after spending so much time in the hospital. I hope that the rest of recovery goes better than the first part. Swinging all critters for you. Take Care.
