1.  We had to attend an information session, then 12 support meeting/classes before they would suppmit for approval.  Then 4 weeks of class before surgery.  Then a class for each diet phase change.   We were well educated.

2.  Den which is also where my office is.

3.  Had to lose the weight I lost last week, again.  One of those bounce weeks.,  I did but now am on a trip so the challenge is to stay straight eating on the road.  Victories, I did lose those #s again and 1 more.  And I put 2 new sweaters into service that I had found at a thrift store and bought even thou they were too small.

4.  I'm in Nashville for the weekend at the annual United States Pony Club meeting.  LOts of friends, information and food.  Hummmm

1.)   Did your bariatric program require you to attend a WLS seminar?
My surgeon has a youtube channel and I watched all of his videos before I went ... but yes, there was a seminar and I still learned alot.  I think they need to make a video out of the seminar, but I think seminar attendance is one the insurance requirements.

I'm self pay (my insurance has WLS surgery exclusion) ,  It was like 3 weeks between my seminar and consult and another 3 weeks before I had surgery ... no appts with psych people or nutritionist. I'm currently backfilling so I don't miss out :-)  The clincal psych guy associated with the bariatric program talks at monthly support meeting, and I liked his way/style, so I made a series of appointments with him.

Planning on trying to get an appointment with the nutritionist to correspond with the beginning of my "real" food eating, just so I establish a relationship in case I have problem later.
I find it humorous that my insurance covers the psych guy and the nutritionist but not the surgery.

2.)  What's your favorite room in your home and why?
Bought a house 1.5 years ago that is ~about 1400 sq feet ...  in terms of walls it has 5 rooms.
The kitchen /living/dining is all open (one room) and I'm working on painting most of the walls different colors ... mostly shades of light blue, slate blue and mauve.

3.)  Victories/Challenges this week?
Victories
: Started Couch to 5K, Not Hungry
Challenges : Still need lots of sleep and slightly worried I don't actually feel restriction (still on mushees though)

4.)  Plans for the weekend?
Saturday:
Finish painting my living room, go the movies with my friend
Sunday:  Gonna go ride my bike with a girl I met on the VSG Maintainence Forum (so get to meet a really live person with my surgery)   Sunday is also kickoff for the Summer Season of  Leuekemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT) program in my area and I signed up to train to do a Hike at Big Bend (TX) in May and I'm excited about getting started with the training.    My Dad died from lymphoma in 2002 and I've been involved with the TNT program off and on since then.  Mostly cycling.

1.)   Did your bariatric program require you to attend a WLS seminar?  No, but I did attend one with a local surgeon - just didn't use him.  My surgeon had programs for us to watch on the internet.  Very educational

2.)  What's your favorite room in your home and why?  Our bedroom.  It was the reason we bought the house.  It's huge - we have divided it into part bedroom/part sitting room.  We have the large screen tv up there with a recliner, couch, etc.  We hang out there in the evenings with the kids and then after they go to bed, just relax with a glass of wine or just a simple snuggle.  I love my room!

3.)  Victories/Challenges this week?  Back to the lower end of my "bounce allowance" and wearing my smallest jeans today.  Yahoo!

4.)  Plans for the weekend?  My husband is in Daytona for the Rolex 24-Hour Enduro Races.  Just hanging with the kids this weekend.  Plan on pizza (one slice for me) and watching Despicable Me in our PJ's tonight.

Revision from Sleeve to DS (with re-Sleeve) on 10/10/17. Slow and steady ...

2.)  What's your favorite room in your home and why? My living room because it has my couch and my TV

3.)  Victories/Challenges this week? Stress, stress and more stress

4.)  Plans for the weekend? Out to dinner with the girls at a favorite restaurant tonight, no plans tomorrow and driving to Rochester to see my poor, homesick son at RIT on Sunday

1.) Did your bariatric program require you to attend a WLS seminar? No, the first time they didn't have one in place at that time. They started one the next year. I just went to my appointment with my surgeon and got a surgery date that day for about 2 months later. I had no insurance requirements. For my revision I saw my surgeon on a Thursday and had my surgery 8 days later. I did see a nutritionalist so I had an idea of how to eat.

2.) What's your favorite room in your home and why? Well, I live in a small apartment so there isn't a lot of room. I spend most of my time in the living room but my bedroom is my favorite.

3.) Victories/Challenges this week? Lots of victories. Got all my laundry done. Bought an ice cream maker and a Magic Bullet with some birthday money. Got an XL Glider for $10 to do some exercise at home and was on it for 10 minutes yesterday. That is a lot for me and hopefully I can work up. Weight loss is good, only 5 lbs to goal. Spent some time with my boyfriend last weekend. Got all my labs back and they weren't that bad and I know what I need to do.

4.) Plans for the weekend? Not really, I just take it as it comes.

1. Did your bariatric program require you to attend a WLS seminar?

Sort of - I had to attend at least one of their support groups, which is primarily educationally based rather than primarily patients sharing.  But once I started, I've only missed on group (we were out of state).  They also provided a private link to a video set up that fully explained each surgery I was considering, and then had questions for us to respond to for comprehension, so that the surgeon's office could address any things we'd misunderstood.

2. What's your favorite room in your home and why?

My room!!  Actually, it was DD's room when she was growing up.  Now that she's out, I have my sewing machine, embroidery machine, knitting machine, beading supplies, sewing supplies, general crafting supplies, and i-Pod dock in there.  It has a window seat where I can curl up and read or plan pattern alterations, and the dart board DH got me for Christmas right after my rny: there are ads from all the large size stores glued to it that I can throw darts at!

3. Victories/Challenges this week?

Victory - I need to go check out size 4 pants, a few of my 6's are getting too baggy.  And I got another cute bra at VS!  (yes, I'm getting obsessed).

Challenge - I really need to clean the house.  Seriously.  No laughing.  I've just been picking up and spot cleaning, and it needs a thorough cleaning like NOW.

4. Plans for the weekend?

Saturday we have a niece's baby shower at a swank restaurant (and that's why I need to find some size 4 pants... my nice black ones that I was going to wear are now too saggy in just the past week!), and on Sunday laundry and general house chores.

1.)   Did your bariatric program require you to attend a WLS seminar?
Yes, it was the first step.  It helped me decide on my surgeon.

2.)  What's your favorite room in your home and why?
The office/den, which is also the most messy (what a coincidence!).

3.)  Victories/Challenges this week?

Victories:  I fit into one of my favorite travel sets much sooner than expected.
Challenges:  I threw up my tuna salad at work ealrier this week for no apparent reason  - such a bummer!

4.)  Plans for the weekend?
A friend is coming over to watch a movie tonight while I finish up my laundry.  After my session with my trainer tomorrow, I will visit with my mom at her retirement community.  I have work calls tomorrow night and mid-day Sunday (at least I did not have to travel to the big meeting).  I am going to organize papers for my weekend project.  Not too exciting but pleasant nonetheless.

Enjoy your weekend!

 Better late than never!

1.)   Did your bariatric program require you to attend a WLS seminar?  I live in Ontario Canada and our health care system pays for some wls.  To qualify, you must take 4, 3 hour sessions, so yes.

2.)  What's your favorite room in your home and why?
Right now it's my family room.  It is recently renovated with new oak hard wood floors, merlot walls (3, the 4th is brick as we added this room on to our old victorian home).  Soon it will probably be my kitchen.  March 16 we have our new cabiniets being installed and we will have gutted it and redone it completely by then - can't wait!

3.)  Victories/Challenges this week?
Victory - I got back perfect lab reports and I'm thrilled because I was 4 months late in getting them done, but I have been vigilant with my vitamins.  Challenges - I had some kind of bug this week and was off work two days (no pay :().  Also, my weight is up and down and I really want to get back to my lowest weight.  It's only a few pounds, but it's enough to make my clothes look and feel tight.

4.)  Plans for the weekend?
I usually have a very active social life, but I don't have any plans this weekend?  Something will come up and in the meantime I'll do the normal laundry, grocery shopping etc.

Have a great weekend, fellow lightweights!
