Think Positive Thoughts for Me!
I'm with UHC, and while my employer covers WLS, I've been having a really hard time getting them to tell me what my requirements are. They can only see a weight requirement on my plan, but no one at UHC will tell me that's all I have to meet. They said the only way to find out for sure was to submit my predetermination letter early, which is something my surgeon's office has never had to do. They went ahead and did it for me, though, and it's been three long weeks and multiple faxes, but...
They finally have it! I sent it off myself yesterday with a rather strongly-worded cover letter containing a request for them to call me when they got it, and they called me yesterday afternoon.
The letter goes to the predetermination people now, and I should find out soon what I have to do. It'd be awesome if I only had to meet a BMI requirement, since getting 5 years of weight history will be hard for me (I am only 25 and there were a few insurance-less years in there).
Think happy thoughts for me, and hopefully I'll be joining you all on the loser's bench soon!

Crossing toes & swinging cats that you get thru the insurance part with ease.
