Top 3 Things You Attribute Your Progress Thus Far To
I am not sure it helps with saiety, though everything I have read points to the fact that it does. i have always eaten good fats post op,so I have nothing to compare with.
I eat nuts,full fat cheeses,olive oil,full fat dressing,butter,avocado,bacon,sausage.
the thing about fat free is that when you take something out of a product you have to put something back in to keep it together,ya know? When they take out the fat they usually replace it with suger! I can't see I am doing myself any good by eating carb laden fat free foods. Plus,it ussssually tastes like crap. Eating the small amounts I do,I want every bite to count in a good way.
The fat helps with pooping and keeps my skin moist. I don't think fat makes us fat. I think it is not about one food item,it is about all the food items together, and not just one meal or one day but a long string of meals and days with everything working together that matters.

Hi Amy,
I have three women that I've been on this journey with for the last year. We met at our Kaiser support group over a year ago. We became great friends and started walking together and doing other activities. It's great to have the time to talk in a small group about our journey. We have one RNY and 3 sleeves. One is 18 months out, I'm 11 months out and the other two had surgery this fall so we have a nice mix of experience.
I do have others that I walk and hike with that aren't from my WLS group.

Hi there --
I had surgery on March 8, 2010, and started running in April. I started out just running the straight stretches of the track and walking the corners and just worked my way up. In October I ran my first half marathon. It's amazing how much you can do after the weight comes off. I wasn't a runner before, so anyone can do it!!
