1) changing my lifestyle pre-op was crucial...it made the transition to life post-op much easier
2) prayer
3) Logging every bite of food that I put in my mouth

If I knew pre-op what I know now, I wouldn't have worried half as much :)

No my question but my NUT says your pouch doesn't have a scale, it has a volume.  We were always told to go my volume.
Walking first, then get released to do whatever.  I think I was fully released at 2 months but was doing all but ab stuff at curves after 10 days.

I do both. Early on, it was all volume, measuring liquids, yogurt, cottage cheese, soup, tuna fish. Now, I tend to weigh meat and when I have measured it, the amount is the same, as when I weigh it. Seems to be working fine. I measure berries, veggies, cheese by volume, so volume is used the most. Your sleeve is going to be quite small for the first few months and measuring by volume will be the way to go.

Exercise. The first couple of months were quite difficult for me, and I spent 2 weeks in the hospital with complications. When I was feeling better, I mostly walked and started weight training during month 4. If I had been feeling better, I would have started the weights earlier, since my surgeon had released me for light weights. You need to go by, what your surgeon recommends.

1. Totally eliminating refined carbs, sugar and wheat. I am addicted to them and when I don't eat them I don't crave them. Every time I have failed before, including my first WLS, it is because I convinced myself I could eat those moderately. I can't.
2. Over 100 grams of protein a day.
3. About a gallon of fluids a day.
