its been forever - gotta vent
Sorry its a long one. Its been forever since I have posted and that is because I have been being a rotten WLS person and the scale shows it. I have gained. I was really lazy and slipped back into my pre op habits, sweets, grazing and all that stupid stuff. I finally pulled my head from the sand when my jean got really tight. I realized what I was doing and remembered how I felt pre op when people who were a couple years out posted about how they were eating/drinking and not respecting their pouch/sleeve I was so angry at them I was working so hard to have surgery and they were so lucky to have gotten to have surgery and now they were wasting it. Now I am that post op person wasting my gift. Well I should say I WAS that person a week ago I took the carbs out of my diet no breads or grains no sweets no junk at all. I uped my shakes and water I have been super good about my vitamins and yet I have not lost at all today I was up a pound how the heck am I up when I have been being so careful. As soon as I got off the scale my first thought was why the heck am I working so hard when I am not going to loose anyway I give up. My second thought was no I am not I am going to keep trying and keep working at this but its so hard when it doesn't seem to work. I just dont know what to do. I will start posting on Miles and Menu's but beyond that I am at a loss ~ acutally I wish I was at a loss, but ya know what I mean.
You are doing the right thing. You are up a pound because you increased your water. Remember, also that the body probably thinks it's starving. If you haven't started a food journal, now would be a good time. There are some excellent websites that will track the calories, carbs, proteins, etc. for you. You're catching it before it gets away from you. You'll be successful.
I agree, you have increased your water and that will cause you to maintain and not lose weight. Increase the proteins, if you have to go back to 3 meals and 2-3 snacks, you may not feel like you are starving wither.
As the Dr always says, protein first, veggies then carbs. It will come off. Frequent the board for support, we are all here for you.

I was so bad at my water for a long time, this last week I have been building it back up I am to 70oz daily now working to get to at least 80. For the last few days I have been doing 3 meals and 2 shakes each day. I am going to go back to using the daily plate to make sure I am doing things correctly. Thanks for your kind words.
Congrats for getting back on the wagon. You did it once, you can do it again. You have the skills. And you have taken the first big step. Hurray.
