Unjury
So, preop testing going on. I ordered the Unjury starter kit and it came in today's mail. I tested the unflavored protein. My husband is a sport and tried it too. First, just a taste (no taste at all) of powder alone. Then the rest of the pack mixed in crystal lite. It was just fine. Actually kind of filling (maybe that's mental). I couldn't taste protein, but it made the drink a little cloudy. My husband wants me to order the cannister and mix it in the full crystal lite pitcher so we always have protein on hand.
I'm not generally one to advertise, but with all the talk I hear about "nasty" protein, I thought I would mention one that wasn't so bad. Of course, that may all change after surgery, but for now, I'm happy.

Perfect timing! My husband was just asking what kind of protein he could add to V8Fusion and I told him I'd see what I could find out on the LW forum. Viola! My answer was already waiting for me. LOL Thanks! LW's rock!
***Darn. Did it again. Should have done something besides delete a duplicate post. Like say, "My ticker is wacko and I'm responsible." heh heh heh

I read somewhere that you shouldn't mix protein powders into whatever liquid you're using a long time in advance, like the night before or anything. It breaks down or something. So before you make a pitcher-full, contact Unjury and see what they say.
I do use unflavored Unjury in Crystal Lite every day - 2 scoops in about 24 oz of Crystal Lite. I mix it up in the morning, take it to work, and it's my after-breakfast drink, works great.
Good luck with your preop stuff & the surgery!

Thats one of the ways I got my protein in in the beginning. I used the unflavored Unjury with crystal lite.
There have been some discussions on whether premixing the protein would break it down and lose some of its components. Not sure if that is totally true... it may also have something to do with the quality of the protein being used. Its definitely worth calling and asking the Unjury folks about. If you do and find out, please share with the rest of us!
I tend to premix my protein drinks in my shaker bottle the night before and am able to grab it and go to work...

I'll bet you would like the Syntrex Nectar line of protien powders. You can order sample packs of all the flavors. They mix easily and have a thin consistency like crystal lite. Personnally, I don't like the taste of protien mixed with water, even the unflavored kind, so I put it in soy or almond milk, mootopia, or decaf coffee. But the Syntrax Nectar line is by far my favorite, and I can drink them with water.
