Good Morning. It's tough to stay on track when you're busy

I've always had so much respect for medical types, business travelers and really busy people when it comes to staying on track with their protein, vitamins, fluids and low carbing. I don't know how you guys do it! I had one day where we had a working lunch and I had to have nearly everything I needed for the day with me. Man! You really have to plan ahead and have everything set out or pre-packed.

Care to share some of your tricks you use to keep on top of all that's required of us when you're so busy?

Have a great Wednesday, y'all.

Thank you for posting this Gina!  You've read my mind....

I'm currently in a(nother) 4 week stall.  I hit 146 around Christmas Day and have been either 146, 147, or 148 ever since!!!  UGGGHHH!!!  I keep thinking, "I can't be done!""  I feel great at this weight but I really want to reach my goal of 130!!!

I've got to get more organized and plan my eating better.  I'm not a daily tracker and probably never will be but I know my calorie in take (and carb intake) has been up!  I've honestly been considering joining Weigh****chers---not to lose weight but just for the accountability of planning and tracking my food!   Guess I just need to get back to the basics....anxious to see what tricks everyone else has up their sleeves....

Peyton, I go to WW every monday night.  I just want the accountability of getting on the scale.  I know it helps me stay on track.  I do track my food daily but I use myfitnesspal for calories/carbs/protein intake.  Then I sometimes convert to Points.  I want to know that I'll have a weekly weigh in when I get to goal, just for accountability.  Now I weigh every morning at home but it's easy to slip into denial.

I've seen one of the DS gals post something like that. She's a business traveler and I worry that she doesn't have time or access, but you've hit it right on with how she handles getting a little food when she is able to get out of the office she's visiting or out of the hotel or airport.

Airports drive me crazy. I usually end up getting a bag of trail mix and nuts. I love the big airports that offer more variety. I go looking for yogurt or a RTD protein shake.

When I travel I take my protei nwithme in zip lock bags.  I also will pack a few protein bars, and it depends how long I'll be gone.  If its over a week I'll hit the grocery store and stock up on a few things.  Otherwise, I just choose my food wisely when I go out.

Airport food is the biggest challenge... really not much there for us to choose from.

Now - busy while home?  Yes, I tend to get off track when I'm not working.  When I'm home all day I tend NOT to eat, but when 5pm rolls around - watch out!  Its like a switch flips.  I'm going to have to break that switch too.

I know I'm probably still a bit bloated from the fluids they put in me Monday, but I can see my thighs have grown quite a bit... I've got my measurement system with them - and they've surpassed it - yikes!

In airports, I get a burger and dump the bun.  In the morning I get a breakfast burrito and dump the wrap.

On Monday morning, I take 4 days of lunch with me.  Lunch meat and cheese, chicken salad, hardboiled eggs etc.   I also cook up something on Sunday night that will work for several days of dinner.  It gets boring but there's always something.  I make hamburger patties and freeze them, then take them out two at a time for two dinners or lunches or whatever.  I keep cheese in the fridge and the freezer always has shrimp, beef, meatballs, fish fillets etc so there's grab and go.  I buy big packs of pork chops at Costco and freeze them 2 to a pack for easy thaw.

I love the Harris Ranch - no hormone antibiotic beef pot roast from Costco.  Already cooked, micro for 5 minutes, slice open pack for a big pot roast w/gravy.  Only 2 carbs per serving.  I always have a couple of those in the fridge.  At only $4.99 a pound it's better than lunchmeat etc.

I keep vitamins and calcium in my desk drawer and count out what I need for the day.

I'm headed for work.  Protein pudding made for breakfast.  Slice ham and cheese in the fridge at work.  I have 30 minutes between work and a class tonight so I'll have the salmon fillet that I cooked the other night.  Fast and easy, even though it may not be what I'm craving at the time, it keeps it in the "just a meal" category for me.

i also often get up early in the morning and bake .... fat free whole grain , sweetened with splenda stuffed with veggies ( zucchini or carrot bread - or outright Zuchini or Squash chips breaded with parmesan ranch shake n bake .....)

then ... marinated Chicken Tikka ( tikka spices , yogurt , lemon , garlic , white meat chicken breast - roast - or shake and baked extra crispy chicken nuggets or oven fried shrimp or oven fried fish fillets ....

I bring all this with me to feed the guys who are working in my unheated house and my driver .. who gets really grouchy if hes not fed ... ... they really appreciate it along with thermoses of sweet hot coffee .. and it means I dont reach for the candy either when I am not getting home until nine or ten pm !

I pack up my work meals and make my protein shake the night before. I cook something that I can eat all week for dinner and keep frozen shrimp and smoked salmon on hand for variety.

I go back to being a road warrior the second week of Feb. Here's my plan. I am ordering a refrigerator at each hotel. I plan to rent a car when it makes sense so I can buy provisions. If I don't have a car, I am going to ask the hotel concierge to pick up a few things for me (like protein drinks, string cheese and greek yogurt) so it is waiting for me. Luckily, I've made good friends in various places who would also help me out. I will pack some babybel cheese and pure protein bars in my carry on, along with those tuna to go packs. I welcome other suggestions!
