I have been having trouble getting in any protein drinks (nothing new) so when I had drank that Nectar Strawberry mousse, I came up with an idea.
I now know how to make my own strawberry milk shake that doesnt make me want to vomit WAHOO!

One scoop (walmart brand) vanilla protein, 8 oz milk, SF Strawberry Nesquick and 1 tablespoon greek yogurt!
It was wonderful, everyones tastes are different and I am so glad this has worked for me.

Thank you everyone for your encouragement on at least trying and trying!

wow - great news!  Keep trying though - there's a lot more decent proteins out there.

I do the above with the Matrix 5.0 mint cookie - yummy as a frozen drink!

Great news, Stacey. I finally found a protein I can like, not just gag down. It is Beneprotein. It is unflavored. I had it in the hospital, then couldn't find till I went online. MedcoHealthStore.com had the best pice. My favorite is 6 oz. milk, 3 scoops powder (only 6 gm protein per scoop) and 1/3 of a frozen banana, have to use a blender, but yum.

I'll try it with frozen strawberries.

I also received beneprotein, when I was hospitalized for two weeks with complications. I didn't use it very much at that time, because I was so sick and wasn't eating or keeping anything down. Now, I have the individual packets and have been adding it to my greek yogurt to give it an extra protein boost. Yes, it is only 6 gm per packet or scoop, but you can always add more. It mixes very well in my fage yogurt. I bought mine online, through Amazon.com. I'll have to try it, in a shake, but I am not really a shake person. Haven't been able to stand them, although, I drink the high protein Premier shake almost everyday. It has 30 gm of protein per 11.5 oz serving and can be found at Costco.

I can only drink the Premier chocolate diluted with some 1% milk. I even add Beneprotein sometimes and shake with ice cubes and make two drinks.

I like the Beneprotein in a shake because it is not sweetened. The banana is like a natural sweetener.

It was so nice to meet you at the Concord luncheon.

I love strawberries but have never been big on strawberry drinks.  However, I did like the strawberry crystal lite (walmart kind) mixed with my vanilla  walmart protein.  Even better was the rasberry one and the orange tasted like a creamsycle.  Blended with ice cubes both were pretty darn good.  I haven't thought of those in a while since at this point, everything has to be hot.  Too cold to be drinking frozen drinks for me.

Speaking of shakes, can anyone tell me their experience with TEMPERATURES of drinks?

When you were first out, did you have trouble with hot or cold?  As in, I'm wondering if I'll be able to eat icy protein drinks right off the bat, or even SF popsicles, which are one of my favorite desserts now, even before surgery. What about ~130 degree drinks like protein drink hot chocolate?

Right off the bat, you could try warming your protein drinks to less than 130 degrees. Unjury makes a protein chicken soup that isn't too bad, but it is high in sodium. Protein hot chocolate would work and would be great. Warm tea would go down well.

When I had surgery, the weather was warm, so SF popsicles went down well. Many people say that warm drinks go down better, especially in the AM and early out. Since the weather has been cold, I've been warming up my high protein RTD Premier shake, which makes it taste like hot chocolate. I've also been drinking more caffeine-free herbal tea, which is easier to get down than water.

I had a lot of no sugar added popcicles during my first week post op.  It felt so good going own on my swollen Sleevie.  1 pop is 2 ounces of fluid when melted so I counted every ounce to get to my 32, then 64 oz.

I loved warm herbal tea post op as well.   It took a little of everything to get those fluids in.
