Wow moment

Well I had my 6-month post op appointment, other than needing a Rx for weekly Vitamin D everything else was MARVELOUS!! Weight Loss and Labs WOOHOO!!! I felt so good I decided to buy myself something new to wear. I went to Walmart thinking I'd get some casual wear to work out in, then I saw a sexy black dress! I was in the Misses Dept, the dress was in a 12/14 and a 16/18, I think what the heck try on the 12/14 if it doesn't fit, well it doesn't fit! I try it on and OMG it fit, perfectly!! I can't even remember when I was ever able to wear a 12/14. Every since my early 20's I was 18/20 and of course it just continued to soar until I finally hit 22/24. I will never ever go back!! I am so freakin thrilled. I am doing the Happy Dance!!!

Um...about that Rx D. Is it little round oil filled football shaped capsules? If it is, it won't do you much good. We RNYrs and DSrs need dry D3. That stuff is oil based D2...I don't know why docs keep prescribing it for us. You can get dry D3 at VitaminShoppe. RNYrs need at least 10,000IUs a day and if you're low, 20,000IU - 50,000IUs a day. You won't go toxic on dry D3. The oil based D2, yeah you can go toxic on it.

Thanks everyone for the info, I haven't gotten the RX filled yet, however I am familiar with the capsule because as a nurse I have given it to my patients , I will get some Vitamin D3 today from the Vitamin Shoppe.

Don't worry Gina I am not that sensitive, I have given this Vitamin in this form on many occasion however I didn't know that we don't absorb Vitamin D in this form. That was a "ah ha" moment for me. Life is constantly a learning experience. I appreciate the information, truly! Be Blessed!

Most of the D that gets prescribed is oil based, from what I understand, and we don't absorb that well. Vitalady has D that is dry and it raised my D level wonderfully. I think when my D level got up what when I really started feeling better.

12 is great. And sounds like you really deserved a treat. Woo Hoo.
