I'm praying for your family!  I think your husband is right....she would have definitely found another excuse if you had not been convenient!

Luckily, the colon is a really big organ---if the cancer hasn't spread, she should do really well!  Let us know how everything goes...take care of YOU!!!

 Its seems like you have great support from your husband. We each need to take responsibility for our own lives. Your mother in law probably looks outside herself for every problem, to see who she can blame. If it wasn't you, it could have been anything. Bad weather, car trouble, some other family member. He is so wise to know that.

Still it is hard to hear, because you want to help.
