My goal weight is 130lbs. Do not get me wrong I am happy where I am and many people has said that I have lost enough do not lose anymore.  I have been working out hard in the gym getting my fluids and taking my vitamins, but the weight loss has slowed. I guess this is to be expectced, but it is very frustrating. So, I decided to look back at where I came from again to be thankful for what I have achieved so far.

7/24 206#
8/23 190#
9/23 180#
10/24 168#
11/20 162#
12/20 152#
1/22 146#    It still feels like 130# will never come. There was 2 months with only a 6# loss. Is this normal????? I hope it is true that I will continue to lose up to 12 months at least. I have heard of people not losing much more after 6 months. Anyone stop losing after 6 months???? Anyone lost 20 lbs or more between 7-12 months???? Just need to feel normal I guess.

I slowed down once I hit normal BMI but little by little I did make it to goal. Some months were only 1 pound or 1/2 a pound. If you're still losing 6 pounds a month recently, you got more in you and you'll get there. It took 11 months for me to get to goal and only 6 months to get to normal BMI but I had very similar numbers to yours.

Thank you for replying. It gives me hope. I so want to reach my goal and have been working so hard. I know in reality that it is totally possible, but negativity has been creeping in lately. I am going to keep following my diet, exercise, and vitamin regimen and hopefully I will get there before I know it. Protein, Protein, Protein

Looks to me like you are doing great.  I think you will make it.  We should lose for 12-18 months.  It will slow down, but you should keep losing.

You definitely will keep losing after 6 months - I lost up until month 10 when I reached my goal and there are many others out there that have kept losing after 12 months.

Like Gina said, if you're still losing at 6# a month, you've got more to lose.  My last few months was 5,3, etc.

I've heard this statement several times lately where people have stated that people stop losing after 6 months.  I think the type of surgery they had and how they handle it is key to continue losing.  Anyone can stop losing if they don't follow the rules.

It sounds like you're doing everything right - be patient - the last few lbs are the hardest and slowest to get off!

I sat at 144 for 8 weeks over the summer (about 6 months out) without changing a thing. My surgeon, PCP, and DH all said I was done. Then suddenly I dropped another 15 pounds, again without changing a thing.

I guess my body was just taking a breather for a while. You still have time, and will lose. Just give your body a break for a bit.

I think you are doing Awesome!!!   You've lost 86 pounds in 7 months and it looks like you are still losing pretty good each month.  6 Pounds in a month is VERY good!!  I hit goal at about 15 months and I probably wouldn't have stopped then if I had not increased my calories because I wanted to stop losing.

Just keep doing what you are doing and you'll get to a normal BMI.
